Ticwatch Pro review

There’s ups and downs when it comes to the Ticwatch Pro. For starters, the design leaves a lot to be desired and the watch will be too heavy and chunky for some. However, we love the innovative dual-screen design so you can easily get information with the basic LCD panel and then use the OLED display like normal the rest of the time. This works better outdoors, saves battery and means you still have a functioning watch when the battery is too low. Performance isn’t the best and we found step counting a bit out of whack. That said, if you want something cheaper than many rivals with GPS, NFC and a heart rate monitor then this could be a good choice.

TicWatch Pro review: Best battery-life smartwatch outshines the big brands

Need an attractive smartwatches that you can wear to work and wear during your workouts? The TicWatch Pro is that watch. Don't need the sports stuff, but want a Wear OS watch with great battery life? TicWatch Pro is that watch too. It’s hard to think of many smartwatches at this price point that offer anything as complete.

Great battery life; Comfortable to wear; Versatile design; Much more affordable than competitors;

Apps load a bit slowly; Will be a little too chunky for some; No LTE so no true wireless freedom;

Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE review

Cellular smartwatches are few and far between. Your best options revolve around Samsung’s Galaxy Watch or the Apple Watch Series 5, Series 4 or 3. But what about 4G LTE watches on Google’s Wear OS platform? The last few launched in 2017, including the Huawei Watch 2 LTE and the failed Verizon Wear24, so it’s slim pickings for Wear OS lovers. Mobvoi, known for making ultra-affordable smartwatches running Wear OS, is here to fill the gap with the 4G LTE version of its TicWatch Pro. The TicWatch Pro launched last year, but the TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE is slightly different. Not only does it have a cellular connection (which means you’ll need to pay a monthly data plan for the watch), but it also bumps up RAM for improved performance, and has subtle design changes. It’s feature-packed and costs $299, easily making it the best Wear OS smartwatch you can buy if you’re looking for connectivity even without your phone. But first, a quick word on the watch’s 4G LTE connectivity. It only works throug...

Unique dual-display technology; Two-day battery life; Cellular connectivity; Accurate fitness and heart-rate tracking capabilities; IP68, NFC for Google Pay, GPS, internal storage;

Performance occasionally stutters; Bulky, masculine design with ugly preinstalled watch faces; 4G LTE is limited to Verizon;

TicWatch Pro 4G : The cheapest cellular smartwatch

The TicWatch Pro 4G adds cellular capabilities to Mobvoi's flagship smartwatch

Good price for an LTE smartwatch; Improved performance; LTE/4G features work well;

Iffy sports tracking accuracy; Mediocre battery life; Dual display not great in all conditions;

Mobvoi TicWatch Pro review: A second screen doesn’t solve any of Wear OS’s problems

The Mobvoi TicWatch Pro wants to solve the one problem Wear OS doesn’t really have: battery life. While some older LTE-enabled Wear OS watches might struggle to get through a day of normal use, most of them are plenty capable of handling a full day of step tracking, Lyft hailing, and message sending. The TicWatch Pro is no different in that regard. Use it as a smartwatch and you’ll probably need to plug it in before hitting the sack.

The TicWatch Pro has excellent battery life, but its design leaves much to be desired.

Excellent battery life.; Heart-rate sensor, NFC, GPS, IP68 water resistance.; Second screen lets you use the watch for days after battery has been depleted.;

Design is too big and too aggressive.; Wear OS is in need of a facelift.; Rubberized band gets uncomfortable after a while.;
