enjoyed it. good story. did not like the controller layout though. would still play again though.
Thief doesn't deliver on all of its swagbag of stolen promises, but still outshines many new-gen titles.
The stealth mechanic works well; mistakes are your own, The sandbox level design complements the stealth
No sense of history in the city; Mechanics don't feel cohesive; Writing leaves a lot to be desired
I want to express straight away that I am a newbie to the thief series. Although I am not able to comment on the how this new game compares to previous in the series, I am going to try to complete this review from a 'newbie perspective'.
I'm not one for writing a lot but I am a 48 year old gamer who loves these sort of games and this one does not disappoint in any way. The graphics, the story, the missions just everything is amazing, so engrossing and I love sneaking about killing people!

To say the Thief community has patiently waited for Garrett the Master Thief to return would be an understatement. Fans have been chomping at the bit for some 10-years waiting for a new Thief game.
Thief is not a bad game by any means. It had the potential to be the most sought-after title on next-generation platforms, but the apparent restrictions that are implemented due to the level design, an abundance of loading screens, and sound issues detract from the overall immersive experience.
+ Thievery never felt so rewarding; + Stealth gameplay; + Customizable difficulty; + Replayability
- Load times; - Sound issues; - Gameplay limitations; - Needs more light and environment manipulation; - Lack of enemy variety; - The City is a maze
The reboot of Thief feels rushed, dull and just boring. All the levels use the same black and greys with little imagination. The stealth elements feel good and there's a bit of variety in the weapons and ways to kill or distract enemies. The story is paper thin with characters made of cardboard.
