and The Crystal Maze, a 90s UK TV show recently brought back to life as an experience for anyone to enjoy. The opening sequence sees you as Warren, who is in a wheelchair, on his way to join an organisation called Creo.
Whilst the Surge draws from *Souls, it isn't bound to the formula, or the design of the game. It tries out new things, builds in a great combat system and delivers pulse-pounding action-RPG adventure right into the heart of the game.
In a 2017 that's been overflowing with excellent games, The Surge may be the single biggest surprise so far.
Graphics and gameplay are not bad, but you end up playing through the same bits of the game (with the same bots you just killed) over and over whenever you upgrade. Makes the game tediuous and repetitive after the first couple of screens. Good concept - poor execution. Would not recommend.

If you liked Dark Souls, but wished it was more chainsaws and robots, than swords and demons, good news! Gameplay-wise, The Surge nails it, but the world building is shallow and areas can become repetitive and uninteresting. Fortunately, the combat is fun enough to keep you going.
Received in mail on release date undamaged. Installed and updated the 279mb update which took very little time. Have played for several hours and while at first I thought the difficulty of the game would be too hard or unbalanced until I acquired much better gear for the rig (exoskeleton), I quickly...
