Since The Sims 3 launched in 2009, Sims have vacationed in exotic lands, discovered new careers, mingled with celebrities and the supernatural, and maybe even adopted a pet or two. But. But! They've done it all to the backdrop of static weather.

The latest release from The Sims line-up of expansions, Sims 3: Seasons, is looking to rain on your parade. But don't take that the wrong way. Your Sims can now experience rain, snow, heatstroke, and allergies. The additions featured in this expansion reach way beyond just seasonal changes, however.

The Sims 3: Seasons fulfills its duty as an expansion pack. It provides a new layer to the game, it gives players something that did not exist in the base game, and it offers enough new stuff to justify the purchase.

The Sims is a video game series well known around the world for taking real life and making it fun as a simulation that borders on parody and always provides some entertaining gameplay and funny interactions for all ages to enjoy.

EA has been pretty well known for recycling old Sims content and repackaging it for later games.  When it's done well, it can be a good thing and can be a source of continued entertainment for fans of a series.

Lacking in seasonal activities; Including ones not always well executed; One necessary inclusion destroys a game staple

Since its release in 2009, The Sims 3 has seen a number of expansions and add-ons to enhance its core gameplay. Over its course, we've seen pets, new traits, items, clothing, careers, and even supernatural creatures all added to the game. In short, the game basically has it all.

I was really pleased with this purchase; it brings a new level of realism to the gameplay experience. I admit, my sims perished of heat and cold, and lightning bolts tend to zap the poor little bastards when they least expect it, but it's worth it.
