When having the opportunity to first play The Last of Us (review here ) on the PS3, the game offered so many great aspects to it. It had a great story, highly prepossessing graphics, impressive character design and voice acting.

" The Last of Us: Remastered " remains a powerful and compelling game twelve months on. If you've already played the game, the basically full price (and no discount for existing owners) makes it harder to recommend. However, for newcomers, I have no hesitation in recommending the game.

A year on from its release, The Last of Us remains as essential as ever. This PlayStation 4 update is the best version of a fantastic game, but veterans shouldn't expect a startling renovation.

The first time you encounter a Licker in the RCPD station, seeing the scale of the pyramid you just climbed as Lara Croft, Rinoa dragging Squall onto the dance floor at the ball, and finding out the truth about Booker and Comstock. These are examples of epic jaw dropping moments in games.

The Last of Us Remastered is a worthy addition to the PS4's growing library of games, whilst not as beefy as the remaster could have been, the enhanced graphics are nice and only a few glitches in the unpatched game cause some issues - still well worth getting.
