The Last of Us: Left Behind

Naughty Dog expands on the story of The Last of Us, and the result is nothing short of excellent.

The Last Of Us: Left Behind Review | Friends Until The End

As someone who enjoyed The Last Of Us (perhaps significantly more than our on-site review) I was both excited and rather nervous about Left Behind. After all, getting your money's worth out of DLC has always been a hot topic here on Dealspwn, and buying season passes ahead of time has added further...

Yet more exceptional storytelling from Naughty Dog; Strong interactive elements that provide limited replaybility; Combat sections that are just as unnerving as the main game

Some may find the combat sections more challenging without Joel's use of brute force; Outside of the story elements; it's more of the same gameplay; The short run-time of the DLC makes it only for the biggest of TLOU fans

DLC Review – The Last Of Us: Left Behind [PS3]

It was a fantastic story and it was very touching to see how the father/daughter relationship between Ellie and Joel developed.  But while we learned a lot about Joel, there was still much to learn about Ellie.

+Crucial story to The Last of Us Universe

-Sadly this story has to end

Review: The Last Of Us Left Behind is poignant but paltry

Naughty Dog's next chapter may feel a little too basic and brief for its price tag, but its story still stirs the emotions

Genuinely moving; More from Ellie and Joel (kinda

Narrative is surplus to requirements; Costly for something so brief

Review: The Last Of Us

Please note, whilst we've attempted to ensure no spoilers are present in this review, we suggest that if you've managed to stay clear of anything about the game so far, try to keep it that way and avoid any reviews that might spoil the story.

Wonderfully crafted road trip; with superb writing and vocal work; The interaction between the characters; all of them; is top notch; Often beautiful graphics and animation; A haunting; delicate soundtrack; A sensible; sensitive script; with some really touching moments; Staggering scope and...

There are slight issues with pacing in the middle for an hour or so; which feels oddly padded; Very occasional animation and scripting issues

The Last of Us review

The Last of Us will remain a testament to the PS3's capabilities. Naughty Dog has worked magic with Sony's console, making a game that looks better than a lot of the demos shown for the PS4. As for the storyline, it had us hooked from the word go right to the last minute.

Graphically stunning; engaging storyline; enjoyable multiplayer

Gameplay can be repetitive; no platforming

The Last of Us - Review

If that sounds too bleak, what really makes The Last of Us work is the drama. The story has some unexpected twists for sure, but it's really quite simple - essentially, it's a road movie about Joel reluctantly starting to feel responsibility and affection for the girl he's been dumped with.

A powerfully moving story with the best acting and writing you've ever seen in a game; Tough; absorbing survival gameplay that varies and never gets old (with fun multiplayer on the side); Technically and artistically stunning; The Last of Us will blow you away

It's a little slow to get going; and the characters take a while to get under your skin; The set-up is incredibly well realised but not all that original; Some people might have mixed feelings about how it ends

The Last of Us Review

In some ways 'The Last of Us' reminded me of the 2009 film 'The Road' starring Viggo Mortensen of Lord of the Rings fame, as in this film it tells the tale of a man and his young son who are trying to survive on the road in a post-apocalyptic world.

The Last Of Us Review

The Last Of Us is a Sony exclusive from Naughty Dog, makers of Jak & Daxter and Uncharted. It may be the most important game of the next generation, despite being the swansong from this generation.

GAME REVIEW – The Last of Us (PlayStation?3)

The Last of Us is well-deserving of all its accolades. It's a graphically stunning escape into a post-apocalyptic world where the man you're rooting for is arguably just as bad as the people he's fighting against.
