The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC Review (PS3)

The Last of Us may have featured two strong main protagonists in Joel and Ellie, but clearly Joel's history and psyche are explored more thoroughly than Ellie's in order to better express the bleakness of the post-pandemic world.

The beauty of seeing innocence at play; Infected versus Hunter combat situations; The mall settings is so much fun; Ellie stands strong; even alone; Has everything that made the main game so great

Is a little short; Leaves you wanting more

The Last Of Us

Perhaps the best thing about reaching the end of a console's life-cycle, as we are doing with the PS3, is that some of the best games are released in this period. When you look at the pedigree of the team behind

The Last of Us (PlayStation 3)

Naughty Dog, the Sony-exclusive development house behind the Uncharted, Crash Bandicoot, and Jax and Daxter series, has created what many have hailed as "the last great PlayStation 3 game.

Excellent graphics that could pass as a next-gen title; Emotion-stirring story; Brutal combat

The game sometimes telegraphs enemy encounters; Ho-hum puzzles

Test The Last of Us

The Last of Us

The Last of Us is based in a zombie universe that has been tried and tested quite a few times. Its the package that is awesome. The disappointment I faced was that after 15 hours of playing the game I had to switch off my console and join the real world.

Great graphics; Gameplay is smooth; Voice acting is top notch; Story is worth running through more than once; Brutality in combat is great

Some textures draw in as you approach them; AI characters dont see your comrades even if they talk; make noise or run from right in front of them

The Last of Us: Left Behind

Naughty Dog expands on the story of The Last of Us, and the result is nothing short of excellent.

The Last Of Us: Left Behind Review | Friends Until The End

As someone who enjoyed The Last Of Us (perhaps significantly more than our on-site review) I was both excited and rather nervous about Left Behind. After all, getting your money's worth out of DLC has always been a hot topic here on Dealspwn, and buying season passes ahead of time has added further...

Yet more exceptional storytelling from Naughty Dog; Strong interactive elements that provide limited replaybility; Combat sections that are just as unnerving as the main game

Some may find the combat sections more challenging without Joel's use of brute force; Outside of the story elements; it's more of the same gameplay; The short run-time of the DLC makes it only for the biggest of TLOU fans

The Last of Us review

The Last of Us will remain a testament to the PS3's capabilities. Naughty Dog has worked magic with Sony's console, making a game that looks better than a lot of the demos shown for the PS4. As for the storyline, it had us hooked from the word go right to the last minute.

Graphically stunning; engaging storyline; enjoyable multiplayer

Gameplay can be repetitive; no platforming

The Last of Us Review

In some ways 'The Last of Us' reminded me of the 2009 film 'The Road' starring Viggo Mortensen of Lord of the Rings fame, as in this film it tells the tale of a man and his young son who are trying to survive on the road in a post-apocalyptic world.

The Last of Us

There are games that define a generation and they typically come at the end of the product lifecycle. They stand out as pushing the hardware beyond anything we'd seen prior and they have storylines that you'll remember for all time.

Multiplayer is not tacked-on – it's well worth playing, Storyline is shockingly engaging; I felt very invested in the narrative, Great mileage on this title – roughly 16-18 hours for single player, Award-deserving audio across the board.

Subtitles can be spastic; throwing multiple conversations together; Occasionally; friendly AI does some VERY unstealthy things; One failed trigger point required a restart of the area; Handful of non-intrusive Havok engine hiccups; Some puzzles have secondary solutions; but most are linear
