I've been playing The Golf Club way back when it was in Early Access on Steam all the way up to its official release last August. At that time we reviewed the Xbox One version of the game but now that the Collector's Edition has released we thought we check it out on the PlayStation 4.

When it comes to golf, I have what you might call a love/hate relationship with the sport. I find watching it on TV to be about as exciting as getting my hand caught in a wood chipper, and I can think of a lot better things to do than pack a bunch of clubs around a golf course.

ALOT OF REPLAY VALUE,100 COURSES ALREADY ONLINE, MORE COMING. THIS GAME BLOWS AWAY EA WITH MORE CONTENT THAN EA COULD EVER IMAGINE TO SELL AS EVEN DLC. NOT QUITE UP TO PAR WITH EA ON THE GRAPHICS, BUT STILL GOOD GRAPHICS.

Game looks awesome on PS4. Gameplay is solid and seems to run very smoothly on PS4. I haven't designed any courses yet myself but some of the courses others have published via the course designer are reallllllly amazing. Lots of potential. Would recommend.

Fore! Finally a golf simulator that actually appreciates the sport for what it is, without forcing you to open either your bag of cheap tricks or your wallet to succeed.

The problem with the Tiger Woods games, is that they kind of went beyond simulation and added elements that were needless, such as being able to adjust the spin of the ball mid-flight, clothes that upgrade the character and more.

There are literally thousands of courses to play, and people can make their own courses and share online. The graphics are great. it's a bit difficult to learn but that's good because it means you feel really good when your scores get better.

Interesting version of Golf. Much better than The PS4 Rory Mcilroy Version, which is a mess even after the upgrade.

If you're a golf fan, I think you'll like it. If Tiger Woods/Now Rory McIlroy/EA offering is FIFA, then The Golf Club is Pro Evolution Soccer. It is probably one of the more realistic sims for golf. There are a few issues; the "short game" parts can be difficult and strangely inconsistent at times.
