The Evil Within (Xbox One) Review
The Evil Within is an absolute masterpiece . It combines near-perfect challenge, good (albeit a bit dull) characters, a pretty fantastic story (especially when you search for, and read the collectables), awe-inspiring terror and horrific beasts, and grueling sounds and music, to create a masterpiece...

The Evil Within Review
The Evil Within doesn't quite live up to its forebears, but that's fine, it does stand on its own and it's worth grabbing if you're a fan of the genre.

The Evil Within
Despite letting some of its most compelling aspects die off, The Evil Within is still worth a shot for bringing some unique ideas in the first place, and giving us a new way to think about survival horror.
Pros:
- A compelling and visually powerful world
- Unravels an engaging mystery
- Offers a new take on the survival horror genre
Cons:
- Forced and sometimes finicky combat
- Enemies and sequences that feel like filler
- Dropped plots

Pros:
- Guaranteed to scare – Maintains intensity throughout
Cons:
- Some clunky elements – Slow pacing scatters story elements

Xbox One Review - 'The Evil Within'
Director Shinji Mikami's fingerprints are all over The Evil Within . That's even more evident if you're familiar with his past work, particularly Resident Evil 4 . Even with Mikami directing, The Evil Within leaves a lot to be desired, although it also had a lot of elements that I greatly enjoyed.

Test : The Evil Within

Horror games are a bit like comedy games in that you rarely see one done right. Horror games are difficult because they have to create and then build that level of tension that either ends in relief or moments of sheer terror.
