The Crew Review

An open world, myriad distractions, a main storyline that is entirely forgettable and secondary to the world created around it. This all sounds awfully familiar…

The Crew has been quite the ambitious undertaking by a completely new development studio as Ivory Tower has offered some interesting ways to play a racing game. The open-world aspect is one I found myself enjoying more often than not as having an entire nation to drive across was thrilling and quite...

The Crew

The Crew is an interesting game to merit. On one hand, it has achieved something truly remarkable that separates it apart from all of the other racing titles on the PS4 and XBO. On the other hand, it's difficult to look past some of the obvious flaws that prevent it from being a must-buy game for...

Piercing the Hype: The Crew Review

Imagine an open world racing game with a huge map of the mainland USA that allows you to tune and customise every major aspect of your car. On paper, this idea sounds brilliant. Add to that [...]

  • Car Customisation
  • OST
Cons:
  • Car Handling
  • Environmental Rigidity
  • Opponent

Mild in the streets.

Ambition has never been an issue for The Crew. When it launched last December, Ubisoft's open world "carPG" attempted to provide players the opportunity to drive across the entire continental United States with a full squad of friends, competing in a wide variety of events like traditional circuit...
Pros:
  • Monster trucks add excellent goofy fun
  • Noticeably improved physics and graphics
  • Summit events provide intense competition
  • consistently fresh content
Cons:
  • Driving still feels floaty despite updates
  • FreeDrive additions falter
  • Frustrations like the clunky UI remain unresolved

The Crew review – cruising?USA

An odd mix of Test Drive Unlimited, Assassin's Creed, and Destiny. And while the combination is tastier than it sounds it also has an awful lot of lumps in it.
Pros:
  • The open world map is a hugely impressive achievement, both technically and artistically
  • The mission design is generally good and everything can be played with friends
Cons:
  • The handling model is not very satisfying and the computer opponents alternate between frustrating and boring
  • Ranking system discourages personal skill and encourages repetition

Must Know...Please Read!!!

That little white box beside the Rated box on the case says "Internet Connection required." If you don't have internet or you plan on running your PS4 on wireless i don't recommend the game. If your playing the game and you loose connection it will kick you out of the game.

The Crew

The Crew 's greatest achievement is its vast, beautifully rendered condensation of the United States. Dozens of major cities, landmarks, hills, valleys, backroads are all represented, and the game's current-gen horsepower gives us a sense of scale unlike anything we've ever seen.

Not sure why this game has gotten so much hate. Sure

Not sure why this game has gotten so much hate. Sure, it's not the most realistic racing game out there, but in my opinion, the controls in a lot of those games are very difficult and annoying for the average gamer.
