Aside from some perplexing omissions, Tekken 7 is a roaring success where it truly matters; in its mechanics, its dynamism, and its ability to engage the player through its concise presentation. Make no mistake, the King is back.

It's a testament to how much the Tekken franchise has evolved; ever since the good ol' PS1 days, the 3D fighter has undergone some pretty distinct graphical and gameplay changes, and the seventh main installment shows this quite spectacularly.
Impressive graphical/technical performance; Tweaked mechanics accessible yet comprehensive; Has every previous game's history for newcomers; Cast is entertaining and diverse as ever
...But there's noticeable cuts to the roster; Story mode inconsistent with showcasing characters; Online mode spotty at times
I die way too much, but then again; the last Tekken game i played was Tekken Tag Tournament 2 back in 2011.. But the graphics, music, involvement of the player and customisation options make up for the medium story. Must buy for ALL Tekken fans and even casual gamers. There are things to work for and look forward to. ONLY bad this is lack of characters, hopefully more are unlocked in later patches or (hopefully free) DLC :3
Have not been able to put down the controller since I got home from work. The graphics are simply amazing and the gameplay is superb. The character moves have changed slightly to add something extra to well loved characters.
Tekken 7 ticks most boxes for fans and is great for those new to the series as it sums up the war between the Mishima legacy well. It's refreshing to see some new blood in the cast but there are a few staple characters missing from the roster at launch. The music is superb and some of the best on the series, apart from the music in the customisation screens. Many reviews boast of an extensive list of customisation options, apparently more than previous titles. This is not the case. While there are a lot of different options, they are far less diverse than what has been offered in previous installments. There aren't many display options or sound options available, which I found quite odd and I noticed that some of the models faces looked blurry and dated on certain stages. This does not detract from the experience that is Tekken. The story mode is decent enough and the cimematics are integrated well into gameplay. The character stories are a bit cheesy but somewhat expected from some of the cast. I'm not sold on the new rage art system and would have liked this to be a feature that could be turned on or off depending on your preference. All that aside, you should stop reading and order it!
This is a good Tekken game but not the best in my opinion. It has it's flaws like the awful story mode and character stories but if you just want to play for online against OP players then go nuts!!! Mighty Ape came through with fast delivery again too!
