Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan Review

Even with a super-short running time, the repetitiveness that pervades makes this fight a slog. I've heard all the jokes the team has to tell and have marveled enough at the rogues gallery of bosses – both of which I could've done by watching this game on YouTube rather than playing it – so I'm not...

Cool-looking bosses; Decent humor

Repetitive stages; Too chaotic for finesse; No local multiplayer

Every boss is like this. Every stage is like this. In fact, the stages are just named after the bosses at the end, because who cares, right? Then, just when you think you can't repeat this grueling slog yet again, Mutants in Manhattan decides to pad out the last of its six hours by ...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

It's hard not to get excited when hearing about a new game from Platinum Games. After experiencing greatness like Vanquish and the Bayonetta series, I can't help but be overcome with giddiness each and every time.

Turtles look great in Platinum Games' cel-shaded tech and the combat is easy to learn

Repeated environments that are as boring as they are uninspired; half-baked idea for finding missions; only a few mission types available on repeat; overly simple combat; and a ridiculous pizza mini-game

Concept: A four-player cooperative action game starring the iconic anthropomorphic turtles, brought to you by the studio behind the Bayonetta series Graphics: It looks like more like the original Turtles comic books than the current television or movie iterations, and it's a cool art style Sound:...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

Some people reckon that you won't learn anything by playing video games. And that's something we very much disagree with after having played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan Review

Have you ever watched your childhood gunned down in front of you Because that is what it was like playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan . I grew up on the old-school cartoon and movies, had a ton of action figures as a kid, and even had the album put out by the turtles with a...

Art style reminiscent of the comics

Tries to be too many different genres and fails at all of them; Repetitive guitar rifts for music that will make your ears bleed; Turtle noses; Barely-there story; Cringy humor; April O'Neil repeats the same lines over and over; Should have shot for rating below 'T; Tags

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan Review – PlayStation 4

I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a kid, and still hold a strong sense of affection for the foursome even now. Watching the turtles take on Krang and Shredder formed a solid part of my Saturday morning cartoon watching, so hearing that there was a new game coming to current-gen consoles...

Positives + Does a good job of nailing the Turtles feel

Negatives - Lazy; Repetitive game design - Short experience with no real reason to replay

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan Review

Who here could honestly say they've never heard of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? The ‘heroes in a half-shell' have been a mainstay in pop culture since their inception in the 1980s; spanning comic books, television shows, movies, and especially video games.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan

Perhaps after such goodness in licensed games such as ' Arkham ' and ' Mordor ' I have become spoiled, but I really thought Platinum could deliver a great (or at least good) Ninja Turtles title, especially after their decent work with the Transformers. Sadly, I was mistaken.

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan (Sony PlayStation 4)

Mutants in Manhattan is a bitter disappointment. The production values are subpar, there's a lack of meaningful content, and the combat boils down to mindless button mashing. It could have been a good game, and there are some decent ideas here. It just didn't come together.
