Team Sonic Racing Review

For someone that goes so fast, Sonic has rarely been considered a frontrunner. For the last thirty years he's mostly followed a cheerful plumber around and copied his homework, whether he's been jumping on heads, playing annoying multiplayer board games or dabbling in a bit of kart racing.

Some nice perks to racing as a team; especially online; A little more accessible than Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed; No nightmarish teeth; Some nice perks to racing as a team; especially online; A little more accessible than Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed; No nightmarish teeth

Team play doesn't feel essential; particularly in single player; Roster isn't as interesting as in previous games; Car customisation doesn't change how you race

Team Sonic Racing

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was a phenomenal kart racer, expanding beyond the blue blur's universe to embrace nearly every major property SEGA has worked on in recent years.

Team mechanics are creatively innovative; Plenty of classic Sonic teams to choose from; A huge variety of different stages and events

Vehicles simply don't handle that well; Some ideas aren't fleshed out enough; Unusual performance problems

Team Sonic Racing review – gotta go-kart fast

Sonic The Hedgehog tries to beat Mario Kart at its own game but does Sega's latest racer have what it takes to win pole position

The team mechanics are a good idea and the wide range of race types are welcome; Decent driving model

Forgettable stage designs, dull power-ups, and too many superior alternatives; Noticeable frame rate problems in split-screen

Team Sonic Racing

How do you evolve the humble kart racer It's a tough proposition, especially for a genre so singularly defined by Mario Kart 's dominating presence. Yet the traditional rival to Nintendo's plumber has come closest to establishing a vibrant alternative, chiefly with 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars...

If you're a ride-or-die Sonic fan then you'll have fun with Team Sonic Racing . But, if you're just looking for some quality kart racing, you'll find better games elsewhere. Save your money for a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or the upcoming Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled , which is just a few weeks...

Team Sonic Racing

As the progenitor and king of Kart Racing, Super Mario Kart is allowed single-console iterations with minimal disparity. Sega's attempts to do the same with Sonic-a being literally defined by speed-are as variable in quality as they are in style.

Green Hill drift - Team Sonic Racing review

Team Sonic Racing is a fun and intelligently designed, albeit content-light, kart racer. The game's central focus on teamwork gives the experience a unique and engaging flavor and its sense of speed kept me dialed in. But, that isn't enough to assuage the title's evident flaws.

Fresh; teamwork-focused approach to kart racing; Deep customization system; Robust single-player campaign; Blistering sense of speed

Underbaked array of courses; Content-light side modes; Unsatisfying progression system

Falling Short Of The Podium

Team Sonic Racing implements interesting ideas, but ultimately fails to stand out in the kart racing genre.

PS4 Review - 'Team Sonic Racing'

Buy Team Sonic Racing It's difficult for any kart-racing game to compete with Mario Kart . The franchise that started the concept has consistently been among the best on the market. Oddly enough, one of its closest competitors has been the Sonic kart-racing franchise.

Team Sonic Racing Review

Seven years since its last kart racer, Sumo has unleashed its new take on the genre with Team Sonic Racing. After several innovations and tweaks from their previous title becoming incorporated into genre standards will we see another important step forward

Interesting and fun team based racing mechanics; Engaging track layouts; Visually appealing from top to bottom

Barebones options; Interesting multiplayer variables are locked to online; Basic approach to campaign and general package
