Great value for the money!
This lens is worth what they ask for it. That is, it does not compare with the sharpness one would expect from a brand Nikon lens but the picture quality is fair. Don't expect too much bokeh or low-light capabilities. For shooting outdoors at reasonable speeds, this is a great lens.

Amazing value!
First, my experience with Adorama was excellent and i managed to buy a used lens that was in absolutely mint condition for a great price. Now as to the results i got with this lens they have been nothing short of amazing.

Tamron SP AF 200-500mm f5-6.3 Di LD
The longer the focal length, the bigger the lens. And if you need a 500mm lens (800mm equivalent when fitted to a digital SLR), you can't expect it to fit in the average gadget bag. To its credit, the Tamron 200-500mm is pretty compact for a lens of this range.

Tamron 200-500mm lens for Nikon
I tried the lens with D7000, D90 & D600 for few days. I did not use the tripod and all the pictures were sharp.

Smart buy
I stopped considering teleconverters after reading the fine print on compatibility issues with associated lenses and loss of functions ie autofocus
Pros:
- Quality device, meets expectations, sharpness drops off at max focal distances but was expected from reviews
- Lower cost overall and without the compatibility restrictions OEM places on teleconverters for use with less powerful lenses
- Used on alpha 65
Cons:
- NONe
- I am happy with my purchase

Best lens and investment I've made.
This is my new favourite lens. I am able to do some great work with hand held shots at even low to medium ISO settings. It's heavy, but I don't think that can be helped. I used it at a wilderness sanctuary on vacation and was able to capture the most amazing shots of tigers and lions at quite a...

I use this lens for distant wildlife photography. You can't beat the price for the reach. As I titled, you have to know how to use the lens and what the right conditions are to use it. The lens does get soft if you're shooting a small object far away. The moon... forget it.

If used with some care, this is a very good lens even with 2016 era camera bodies.
I purchased this lens used a year ago and now have finally dialed it in for my bird photography. I have found that it is sharp even at 500mm if used with care. Initially, I thought the softness I experienced was simply back focusing and I did the typical AF Fine tune procedure and got much better...
