I enjoy using this lens. The perspective is fantastic. The distortion at 10mm is hardly noticeable unless you are in close. The usual assumption is that lens of this type is best for landscapes, but this lens is also excellent for those close in shots also.
- Good Optical quality and value for this price range
- Excellent and useful zoom range
- A lot of fun to use indoors or up close
- Good build quality
- Lens flare and CA are well controlled in most lighting
- Autofocus is a bit slow
- Lens Hood is very large
- Huge Filter Diameter
- Built in Flash is not useable with this lens unless you can deal with the large shadow at the bottom of the frame
Tamron AF10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II LD Asph Macro

Tamron SP AF10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 DI-II LD Aspherical (IF) Review
After Tamron's ambitious 10-24mm wideangle zoom produced inconsistent MTF results in a previous WDC test, we decided a re-test was in order to see whether our test lens was a one-off.- Extended zoom range
- low price-point
- minimal colour fringing
- Performance at 24mm
Best non-Canon option on the market
Great product, great price, good looking and easy to use. During a recent trip to Barcelona (where streets are very narrow) my 18-55mm lens didn't provide a wide enough angle to get nice pictures of entire buildings. With this Tamron lens I wouldn't have had that issue.- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
- Quick Focus
- Rugged
- Sharp Focus
- Big lens hood
- Little distortion at ends
Tamron SP AF 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II LD Review
The Tamron lens handles nicely and delivers very good results. Its extended range, and features such as internal focusing and, of course, high-quality optics, mean that it's certainly one to add to the shortlist.
Tamron AF 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 SP Di II LD Aspherical IF - Review / Test Report
The Tamron AF 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 SP Di II LD Aspherical IF left us unimpressed regarding its performance. There's a significant amount of barrel distortions at all focal lengths, CAs are rather high, even stopped down and the resolution figures at the borders are somewhat disappointing, especially in...
The pictures below illustrate the focal length range from wide to less wide (on Nikon DX format, 1.5x).
- Equal widest angle in its class
- and largest zoom range (by a whisker
- Low distortion
- Generally good resistance to flare
- Soft wide open (low local contrast
- Soft corners at all focal lengths and apertures
- Wide diameter lens hood takes up lots of space in a bag
Tamron SP AF10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 DiII LD Aspherical (IF) Super Wide, Lightweight Zoom
Given the 1.5x multiplication factor, the angle of view on the Nikon mount is equivalent to 15-36mm, a bit narrower on the coming Canon mount with its 1.6X factor. This is an ideal street lens and will become a favorite for those seeking a less conventional point of view, especially the...
