Can be useful, but not great
I own several other Tamron lenses, and they all perform reasonably well. So, as I was looking for a decent wide-angle lens, I decided to give the Tamron SP 10-24mm F3.5/4.5 Di II LD Aspherical lens a try.
Pros:
- Extreme wide-angle
- fast auto focus
- reasonably light
Cons:
- Very soft under 12-13mm
- chromatic aberration

Good quality build and affordable
I previosly had the Canon equivalent of this lens, which was damaged, not very robust at all!!! the tamaron feels much more solid build and at almost half the price is a much better buy. as with all Zoom lenses there is always some drop off but using F11-16 I found good definition.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Quick Focus
- Rugged
- Sharp Focus
- Strong Construction

Great Lens at a fair price
I am new to shooting wide angle and the Tamron 10-24 seems to fit what I need. Most of my shooting is landscape and architecture and so far I am happy with the performance and build quality of this lens.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons:
- Slow Focus

The pictures below illustrate the focal length range from wide to less wide (on Nikon DX format, 1.5x).
Pros:
- Equal widest angle in its class
- and largest zoom range (by a whisker
- Low distortion
- Generally good resistance to flare
Cons:
- Soft wide open (low local contrast
- Soft corners at all focal lengths and apertures
- Wide diameter lens hood takes up lots of space in a bag

I enjoy using this lens. The perspective is fantastic. The distortion at 10mm is hardly noticeable unless you are in close. The usual assumption is that lens of this type is best for landscapes, but this lens is also excellent for those close in shots also.
Pros:
- Good Optical quality and value for this price range
- Excellent and useful zoom range
- A lot of fun to use indoors or up close
- Good build quality
- Lens flare and CA are well controlled in most lighting
Cons:
- Autofocus is a bit slow
- Lens Hood is very large
- Huge Filter Diameter
- Built in Flash is not useable with this lens unless you can deal with the large shadow at the bottom of the frame

The Tamron 10-24mm offers a large focal range and a variable f/3.5-4.5 aperture. However, it doesn't offer a built-in focusing motor and emits some buzzes and whirs while focusing. The lack of an AF motor also means that it won't be able to autofocus when mounted on Nikon bodies without their own AF...
