Great Lens at a fair price

I am new to shooting wide angle and the Tamron 10-24 seems to fit what I need. Most of my shooting is landscape and architecture and so far I am happy with the performance and build quality of this lens.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Easily Interchangeable
  • Fast / accurate auto-focus
Cons:
  • Slow Focus

Good quality build and affordable

I previosly had the Canon equivalent of this lens, which was damaged, not very robust at all!!! the tamaron feels much more solid build and at almost half the price is a much better buy. as with all Zoom lenses there is always some drop off but using F11-16 I found good definition.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Easily Interchangeable
  • Quick Focus
  • Rugged
  • Sharp Focus
  • Strong Construction

Nice lens for the price

If you are a photographer you should have either Photoshop or Lightroom which is a must with this lens. It is a good lens and the better the exposure the less you'll have to tweak, but I have yet to get a shot that I could leave untouched. Hence the 4 out of 5 eggs.
Pros:
  • Nice wide angle lens for the price, and with rebate the deal is even better
  • Seems to focus quickly, and is reasonably sharp from f8 up
  • Great for HDR shots, and Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom 4 already have a profile for this lens to adjust for the barrel distortion
Cons:
  • Could be Sharper at lower f-stops
  • Lens cap doesn't like some polarizing filters(doesn't stay on), but no biggie
  • Chromatic aberration can be strong but the new lens correction tools in either Lightroom 4 or Adobe Camera Raw can eliminate that problem crazy easy.

Good lens for real estate videos and photos!

So far, I'm pretty impressed with this lens. I bought it for interior real estate videos and photos and I'm still learning, but it seems to do a great job. It's a bit dark compared with more expensive wide angle lenses, but I have an LED light that compensates for that.

The Tamron 10-24mm offers a large focal range and a variable f/3.5-4.5 aperture. However, it doesn't offer a built-in focusing motor and emits some buzzes and whirs while focusing. The lack of an AF motor also means that it won't be able to autofocus when mounted on Nikon bodies without their own AF...

Can be useful, but not great

I own several other Tamron lenses, and they all perform reasonably well. So, as I was looking for a decent wide-angle lens, I decided to give the Tamron SP 10-24mm F3.5/4.5 Di II LD Aspherical lens a try.
Pros:
  • Extreme wide-angle
  • fast auto focus
  • reasonably light
Cons:
  • Very soft under 12-13mm
  • chromatic aberration

Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II LD SP AF review by Scottelly

While I have not done a lot of testing, this lens does seem to give a sharp image, when stopped down a couple of stops. It is a little soft, especially in the corners, at wider f-stops, but at f8 and f11 it is good . . . maybe even quite sharp.
Pros:
  • Solid
  • lens hood fits well with positive click
  • good range from 15-36mm equiv
Cons:
  • A little heavy
  • but it is lighter than others
  • so I guess compared to the competition this is not really a con

I would buy this lens again...

I bought this lens for my wife... we like to travel and take hikes and landscape photography... the colors are wonderful and the space you can cover with it is amazing. I love the features in it and with my canon 5d works perfectly.

Tamron SP AF10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II Lens (Model B001)

The SP AF10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II is Tamron's second ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for cameras with APS-C sized sensors. Replacing an 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 lens, it provides a wider zoom range, particularly at longer focal lengths.

"Taron Lenses, meeting expectations , every time....."

I have been using Tamron lens and have particularly a very good experience, the prices too are very commutative and obviously the picture quality is on par with the original , the price difference between the genuine Canon and Nikkon lenses to Tamron lenses are huge as Tamron would always stand the...
Pros:
  • Initial Cost is far less then the original Canon and Nikon lenses
Cons:
  • The only negative point I see is the requirement of UV protection film on the lens for protection
