Really enjoy this lense over my 70-200.
I this lense on vacations. It works well with my Nikno d80. So much better thank my 70-200. Adorama is a great place to do business with..

Inexpensive but good
I wanted a longer lens for my Canon, but I knew I wouldn't use it enough to justify buying L-glass or some other high-priced lens. This fit the bill and what arrived was just what I wanted -- a lens that I could pull out to meet a special need, even if it didn't have the optical quality of another...
Pros:
- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- No Image Stabilization

Slow but cheap
Great lens for slow scenes, portraiture and landscapes. The auto focus is no match for fast paced sports shots but at this price its a handy addition to any camera bag.

Love this lens
I love this lens, yes it is slow in low light conditions but on a daylight it is perfect, sharp and great zoom. Also macro mode is very good.
Pros:
- Durable
- Lightweight
- Nice Bokeh
- Sharp Cheap Macro
Cons:
- Noisy Slow In Low Light
- Poor in Low Light

Nice for the price
I purchased this as a gift. This is a pretty good entry level tele zoom. Low light performance suffers without a monopod or tripod, and the af is slow sometimes, especially in low light, but pre-focus manually first, not a problem getting sharp images.
Pros:
- Very sharp even wide open
Cons:
- No IS
- Plastic mount

This lens from Tamron is worth a try if you are a beginner, The auto focus is noisy, Wide open it is OK till 135mm but after that don't expect crispy sharp images and chromatic aberrations also rise.

Good
This lens is great for the money you pay. I've taken many great photos with it on vacation and around town. It is also very compact and light. While it is not an ideal lens to shoot Birds in Flight due to its slow auto-focusing it is great for general photos and portraits.

Great results. The pro reviews say it's not up to the quality of more expensive lenses, but you'd need to be a very critical viewer to spot the difference. I've seen no evidence of coloured outlines on zoomed images and focus is sharp and accurate - sharper in fact than my Nikon 35-70mm lens.
