Good
This lens is great for the money you pay. I've taken many great photos with it on vacation and around town. It is also very compact and light. While it is not an ideal lens to shoot Birds in Flight due to its slow auto-focusing it is great for general photos and portraits.

This lens from Tamron is worth a try if you are a beginner, The auto focus is noisy, Wide open it is OK till 135mm but after that don't expect crispy sharp images and chromatic aberrations also rise.

Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Lens
excellent quality tested by the pro's and matched the big ticket stuff, motorised focus works well. The price is well below 1/2 of some the online and retail traders. Lens is well balanced on the camera body.

Nice for the price
I purchased this as a gift. This is a pretty good entry level tele zoom. Low light performance suffers without a monopod or tripod, and the af is slow sometimes, especially in low light, but pre-focus manually first, not a problem getting sharp images.
Pros:
- Very sharp even wide open
Cons:
- No IS
- Plastic mount

- Durable
- Lightweight
- Nice Bokeh

Cons:

- Poor in Low Light

Slow but cheap
Great lens for slow scenes, portraiture and landscapes. The auto focus is no match for fast paced sports shots but at this price its a handy addition to any camera bag.

Inexpensive but good
I wanted a longer lens for my Canon, but I knew I wouldn't use it enough to justify buying L-glass or some other high-priced lens. This fit the bill and what arrived was just what I wanted -- a lens that I could pull out to meet a special need, even if it didn't have the optical quality of another...
Pros:
- Easily Interchangeable
- Lightweight
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- No Image Stabilization
