Very pleased!
After researching this lens I decided to buy the Tamron lens. Although I have nothing to directly compare it to I have found out of the box this lens has performed very well. Same day I received it I used it for an outdoor photo session with my Nikon D650.

Sorry Nikon
So it focus breathes more than the Nikon 70-200 2.8E FL ED and it can has a vignette starting around f4 down to 2.8. Vignette is fixed with lens profile correction in post. Focus and VC / VR for Nikon work great but I'm not sports shooter so maybe I'm not working it hard enough. Build is terrific.

The Tamron SP 70-200MM F/2.8 DI VC USD , ( buy from Amazon ) ( review ) is a new lens from Tamron. There is also a 70-200/2.8 USD lens (without stabilization), but the new lens isn't just the old lens with VC added.

EUROPEAN ZOOM LENS
This fast F2.8 telephoto zoom lens for full-frame SLRs delivers very good image quality and remarkably consistent resolution. The VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabiliser effectively compensates for camera shake in the Canon and Nikon versions of the lens.

Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD Lens: A Fast Zoom For Full-Frame D-SLRs
The 70-200mm focal length has been the standard tele-zoom choice for many years, offering near normal to a good tele range that suits many practical purposes. Yet, quite a few stock-in-trade 70-200mm lenses had been slow or lost significant aperture as soon as you left the shortest zoom setting,...
