If you are an amateur photographer you would be surprised by the quality of this lens. For the price you pay (less than $200) you get an excellent product. The only real drawback is the noise that the AF produces, compared to the Ultrasound lenses by Canon.

One of the best decisions of my life!
This is the first product I purchased off Amazon. ?9k is a lot of money and I was nervous about spending so much online. Over the past 3 years, this lens (and Amazon) has never let me down. This lens is brilliant for amateurs like myself - especially for bird photography. Simply go for it.

This lens slid under my radar for a long time. How did I not know about this I have two Canon lens (85mm and a 50mm) both manufactured by Canon. I needed something that I could focus from a greater length and this was it. I ordered a 70-200mm from Canon and it was just too heavy.
