REVIEW: Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro
Lens guru, Gary Wolstenholme tests the Tamron 70-300mm zoom lens. Is it worth the relaively low price or should it be relegated to the bargain bin? Often after purchasing a camera complete with standard kit lens, many will look for a telephoto zoom to extend their reach when photographing distant...- Lightweight
- Resolution at shorter focal lengths
- Macro feature
- Good value for money
- Good resistance to ghosting and flare
- Slow autofocus
- Rotating front element may make it difficult to use a polariser
Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 AF review by TheSnore
This is a full frame lens and I'm using it on a crop sensor body. I am very pleased with the image quality. Real life isn't tack sharp why should the images we capture be any different?- Inexpensive
- Auto Focus noisy and sluggish
Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Lens
excellent quality tested by the pro's and matched the big ticket stuff, motorised focus works well. The price is well below 1/2 of some the online and retail traders. Lens is well balanced on the camera body.
Good Product
Lens is value for money.... But there is chromatic aberrations in 300 mm....... Don't expect optical image stabilization in this price segment.
With this 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens, flipping a macro switch in the focal length range of 180mm to 300mm obtains a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 at a minimum focus distance as short as 37.4", enabling close-up shots of flowers, insects, and other objects that normally require the use of a...
Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Di macro (Pentax K) - Review / Lab Test Report
The Tamron is obviously a low budget lens - locally it sells for just ~130€ - it does hardly get any cheaper than this. However, it is amazing that Tamron didn't really sacrifice too much build quality.
Awesome product
Great lens for the price. Hasn't given us any issues. Ensure to read the instruction manual if you are unfamiliar with macro lenses. Honestly though, great purchase!
