I did not own this lens but one of my family member did foor less than a year. Indeed, even if the quality was not wonderful, even taking really great care of the gear did not prevent it from the lenses inside to move (it never fell or whatever) and gave a total ly blurry image.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- - No durability - Not so good for its price

good lens, could be better, just be aware before you buy it
Its a good lens for what it cost, 18-200mm decent price range, i got it for replace kit lens, and honestly i need the IS function, its a good lens, but i need to work on my pulse. Be aware of this before buy it, if your not too good with your pulse and manual focus, with this lens you will learn.

The only lens you need
I found that I was missing shots due to me not wanting to change between the two kit lens on my Pentax K-x. With this lens I get the full range from 18 to 200mm. It is well constructed and feels like a quality piece of kit. For the price I can not fault it.
Pros:
- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Quick Focus
- Sharp Focus
Cons:
- Lens Creep

Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical IF AF review by dugong5pm
good for basic and walkaround lens. Used outdoor in daylight, this lens performs well. It gives decent sharpness & color renderings. Use in lowlights/indoor.. this lens will hunt for focus like crazy. It won't be pretty usable in lowlights due its slow aperture (f/6.3) and lack of VC.
Pros:
- versatile
- price
Cons:
- slow AF
- lens creep
- f/6.3
- soft tele-end

I brought this lens for Pentax k-m. It now works as Tamron 18-200mm VC since k-m has a in-camera VC. I am using the internal flash less often for natural lighting and slow shatter speed. The max aperture at tele-end is slow but I don't care since I can hand hold it with in-camera VC up to 1/15s.
Pros:
- Very contrasty and sharp
- Solid constuction and zoom ring feels just right
- (Not too light or not too heavy.
Cons:
- Lens zooms out when hanging the camera
- Zoom lock is a must when not using
