I used this lense in Yellowstone on my Digital Rebel. I really liked only having to use this lense for the trip. The range is great and I am very happy with the quality of the pictures.
Compact Design; Easy To Use; Improves Picture Quality
Designed specifically for DSLR cameras with 'APS-C sized' imagers, Tamron's latest ultra-zoom lens, the AF18-270mm Di-II claims to offer the world's largest zoom ratio of any current lens.
I often recommend this lens to people who are looking to replace their twin lens kit or those who are buying a new camera and are looking for a lens that is versatile and easy to travel with.
The Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD offers an eye-watering focal range that translates to a huge 15x optical zoom
THIS IS A GREAT ALL IN ONE LENS FOR THOSE WHO ARE ON THE GO WHETHER IT BEING YOUR ON VACATION OR FOR TAKING PICS AT A GAME THIS IS THE LENS I TAKE WITH ME. I NEVER HAVE TO STOP & CHANGE MY LENS & THEREBY NOT MISSING A PHOTO OPPORTUNITY IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN. ITS WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Rugged; Strong Construction
Heavy; Poor in Low Light; Slow Focus
My wife and I have been avid amateur photographers for nearly two decades now.
Small; light; inexpensive; convenient ! An unparalleled; versatile photographic Swiss Army Knife
"Swiss Army Knife" inherently means that it simply cannot be great at anything, except convenience
Pretty good for the money, no need to change the lens anymore, and not to heavy.
Overall it seems that Tamron has been just a bit too ambitious in this lens. This is unfortunate given that its 270mm setting is a key selling point but there will doubtless be times when owners will be grateful for the extended zoom range that, to some extent, does trump other more modest zooms.
The type of user that the Tamron AF 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD is aimed at will be perfectly happy with the performance of it. Picture quality is overall very good and we got some lovely sharp results from it.
