TP-Link TL-WN881ND 300Mbps Wireless N N300 PCI-E Express Adapter 2T2R MIMO PCIe card with LPB

I have five devices in the same room. All except the TP-Link connect and have reasonable performance (20+Mbps on 2.4GHz and 100+Mbps on 5GHz) to my router a couple rooms away, but the TP-Link often disconnects and has so many lost packets that the speed (when it even connects) drops to 1-3Mbps.

Plug and Play

Adding to an mATX running windows 10, this device was just plug and play. I didn't even notice the driver install. It works well without any extra software and does what you'd expect a wireless card to do. There are better cards available on Scan but this is a great mid range card.

Easy to install

Easy to install and I haven't had any problems with the internet with Xfinity. I do mild gaming. And my tower is two rooms away from the modem. There were products that were a lot more expensive, but the microcenter employee recommended this one and I am happy with my purchase.

Works great and worked with Windows 10!

Use this product at home and worked out of the box, auto detected by windows 10, thankfully because I just saw the review saying it wasn't compatible to windows 10 and it only lists Windows 8 64bit as latest supported OS. Anyhow, phew!!

Compact; Easy To Set Up; Highly Compatible

Fairly easy to install, working just fine with my wifi. No laggin or anything. I just wish these wifi pci ‘s didn't have the ugly antenna but I know why it needs it. It's just an eyesore. But this does everything it needs to do at a reasonable price. Very happy with it.

Ok WiFi card for its price

Another con I ran into was the driver issue. It's not such a big issue since it did come with its own Driver CD, but at the same time we're getting into Windows 8 now and it would just be easier if we never had to install another driver again..

If you want to free up some PCI slots or if you have the latest motherboards that only have PCI Express slots (and none of the PCI slots); in my opinion; this is an ok wireless card to have.

First con; although they classify this wireless card at 300Mbps, I never really got up to that speed in downloads and uploads. In my tests, I was not able to get a reliable connection even over 100Mbps. It fluctuated between 48Mbps and 72Mbps, nothing more.

W10 driver issues

Official drivers do not support Windows 10. Uses a generic driver that does not allow for faster speed and throuput. Currently seeing 30Mbps when my router supports over 100+Mbps download.

Reliable, Branded and fair priced

The heading says the half review. The other half answers the question "why to buy this module when I can get USB wifi for ?350-500??" If your usage is just browsing the web and watching the videos or have laptop which has nothing like pci slot and/or lack the , this isnt for u..

"Poor at any reasonable distance"

This card will work fine if you're close to your router, in my old flat I was about 3m away and separated by a single wall. It worked great. At my next house I'm about 8m away, and there's a few brick walls in the way. It gets 2–3 bars, but speeds of about 0.2 Mbps.
