I had some initial problems with the switch losing its management IP but since upgrading the firmware its been good as gold. Being a Cisco guy, I was surprised it has a remarkably similar CLI with superb features. More than good enough for my home network. Great switch at a great price.

*** Should have bought the 16 port instead. Just discovered I could have used the extra ports for the tech bench and game bench instead of routing each to their own separate switches. Then again I do not need that much fine grained bandwidth and access control inside the game network.

Opened the box, plugged it in, and it worked just great. Wired the whole house with cat 6 no problems.

Does everything I need it to to for a small network with two servers.

Probably wold recommend you buy something simpler if this is going in a home. NO QOS on this model. If your a business then press on and buy it but again would recommend 16 or 24 port model rather than this. You never hear somebody say I wish I had fewer ports.
