TP-Link Deco M5 AC1300 Whole Home Mesh WiFi System (3 Pack) DECO M5(3-PACK) review

The M5 is reliable and packs more useful features than most Wi-Fi systems in its price range.

The Deco M5 Whole-Home Wi-Fi System is easy to use and delivers reliable Wi-Fi over a large area; The system has more features than most other systems, including the ability to protect the entire network against online threats.

The M5 doesn't have a dedicated backhaul band, so it suffers from signal loss when its units are linked together wirelessly; It connects to TP-Link at all times and there's no access point mode for it to work well with an existing router.

TP-Link Deco M5 AC1300 Whole Home Mesh WiFi System (3 Pack) DECO M5(3-PACK) review

In general, we’d always recommend a whole-home mesh networking system to any home that’s struggling to get a signal. Although the market is competitive, the TP-Link Deco M5 has a few advantages over competing models.

If you are looking for an easy way to have WiFi-coverage in your entire house, mesh is definitely a solution you should consider. Without having to drill in the walls you can easily build a network that covers the entire house.

Easy set up

Does what it says, great app to connect devices, I have a 3 bedroom weatherboard and coverage is great everywhere and in front and backyards. No trouble with multiple devices connected at once.

Excellent performance for homes and offices

The kit is excellent and covers a 260sqm single storey house. It is easy to set up. You really don't need any specialist install unless you have very limited computer skills. Anyone can set this thing up. I have had it for a few months and it solved all my coverage issues. The trick is also to turn the original modem/router Wi-Fi off and let the Deco take care of that part. The major advantage is that if you have a large back yard or front yard or an area outside that needs coverage, it is super simple to add an outdoor unit of the same brand to extend the coverage. And keep adding. Super good and excellent value !

TP Link

The product is working fine. However I noticed it is made in China. I expect the Good Guys and other Australian businesses to take tangible steps to source products from other countries and my support for businesses will depend on this.

Great coverage

This is an easy produce to install which gives house wide coverage. I had previously tried to use a wifi extender to fix poor coverage spots in the house. It was hard to install and I could never get it to work.
