TDK WR 700 Review

Wireless headphones appeal to those who want to enjoy music/movies at home or on the go without the binding tangle of wires. However, the usual run-of-the-mill wireless audio solutions have a crippling limitation with respect to the wireless transmission technology they use - either Bluetooth or IR.
Pros:
  • Great sound quality
  • Comfortable
Cons:
  • Bulky transmitter
  • Range could've been better

"Review: TDK?s Wireless Kleer Cans Out-Do Bluetooth With Lossless Audio"

TDK has chosen Kleer over Bluetooth and won with this ultra-clear set of headsets, but the WR700s aren?t without their faults. Question is: do they warrant a $179 price tag?
Pros:
  • Kleer technology doesn?t sacrifice quality for wireless
  • Clear, uncompressed sound
Cons:
  • Requires four AAA batteries all up
  • hissing while on standby

Excellent For Sale Price

If you want to save yourself some trouble and grief, the don't mess around with inferior batteries. These phones are high drain, and work best with the best alkaline batteries, not ones that are approaching shelf-life either.
Pros:
  • This is an excellent sounding set of wireless phones
  • great bass
  • great treble
  • overall very nice sounding
  • compared to my bose noise cancelling
  • almost as good sounding
  • but not quite.
Cons:
  • The only down side of these phones is that they do not fit snug on a normal adult head, a little oversize
  • Reduced to smallest they go, they slip off if I bend over
  • So, not very useful for tooling around the apartment, unless I go very slowly.

Wireless headphones most often take the Bluetooth route these days, but a handful of models still use RF-based technology with separate transmitters sending high quality audio streams to receivers inside the headphones. TDK's WR700 uses Kleer technology, a wireless protocol intended mostly for home use. It delivers booming bass and bright, sculpted highs—but there's a bit of distortion at top volumes, as well. The WR700's list price is $249, but it's sold online for much less. If you're looking for a budget, non-Bluetooth wireless headphone option, keep reading. DesignVisually, the WR700( at Amazon) is simple and classy. Black rubberized surfaces match with metallic tones and a black leather head band. The earpads and headband are well-cushioned and quite comfortable, and the supra-aural (on-ear) earcups swivel and fold inward for flat storage. A Power/Pairing switch, as well as volume controls, are located on the outside panel of the right earpiece, with raised indicators for si...

Great wireless headphones !

This is a great wireless headphone with excellent sound, espcially the in the low frequencies. The bass is really high quality sounding as well as the mids and highs ! The disadvantage with this pair of headphones is the sending/receiving distance, appox.
