Hey guys. Just purchased this. Intending on posting a better review after spending more time with the machine. Just letting everyone know this system does NOT support Load Reduced DIMM. It only supports DDR4 ECC RDIMM or ECC/non-ECC UDIMM. LRDimm has the same physical bus connector and same voltage but is not compatible with this system. I ordered the wrong Dimm (LRDimm) by mistake and had to get an RA and pay a restocking fee because of my error. Hope this can save you the same problem :)

The diminutive Supermicro E300-8D with its low power quad core Intel Xeon CPU, 128GB memory capacity, and ample network connectivity is an excellent platform to build a home lab on for just about anything, ie many use it for learning about VMware products. That said, it's also a great little platform for small business or branch office use - just add a NAS for more storage capacity if the M.2 and single 2.5" drive isn't sufficient*.
