Super Mario Maker 2 review

Mick Jagger once crooned the phrase "you can't always get what you want", but in 1969 he didn't even have pong, so frankly I don't think he had any idea what he was talking about. 2019, howe

New course making tools are great; Online additions are a nice touch; It's infinite Mario levels

Multiplayer is a bit underwhelming; Handheld mode requires touch

Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2 adds a wealth of new features to an excellent foundation, but fails to address online issues.

Review: Super Mario Maker 2

If you enjoyed the first title you can rest assured there's plenty of new toys to get your hands on so it won't feel like you're retreading old ground Having previously given you the ability to make your very own Mario levels in Super Mario Maker what was Nintendo to do in the sequel

Lots of brand new content; Single player mode is a great addition; Endless possibilities; 3D World exclusives add depth

Some iffy dialogue

Super Mario Maker 2 Review – Yet More of a Good Thing

Welcome to the latest installment in "Games I Never Played on the Wii U." Today's episode is all about Super Mario Maker 2 , a toybox/platformer so good it's giving me retroactive regrets about my life choices up to this point. All this time, I could have been making weird, dumb Mario levels!

Tons of new mechanics; Touchscreen functionality works great; Story mode is proper robust

Not enough new content for veterans; Still requires a certain headspace; Your mileage may vary

Peak platforming - Super Mario Maker 2 review

I think it's safe to say that the Mario platforming series has quite a storied history. From the injection of Super Mario Bros. into the console scene back in 1985, Nintendo has sustained the AAA, 2D platformer for the past thirty-four years via the Mushroom Kingdom.

Nearly endless potential for creative level design; Myriad new features including multiplayer and course tools; Subversive and engaging story mode; Robust online hub with different ways to interface with the community

Some strange creation restrictions; Shoddy online; Lacking avenues for level discovery

The original Super Mario Maker was a ROM maker's dream come true. Instead of only being limited to creating Super Mario World hacks, they could make their dream levels through all the tools Nintendo provided.

Brilliant fun!

A much anticipated sequel to the original game on WiiU, Super Mario Maker 2 is a delight! Slopes! Many new features like slopes make creating levels much more dynamic. The story mode adds more structure for those who are not into building levels, with over 100 stages showcasing the various items and...

Awesome

Provided you have an online membership this game is basically an unlimited amount of Mario levels, what's not to love about that.
