Wonderful re-release of three classics

Great to have these 3 games on Switch. Ideally, all 3 would feature in an extended Virtual Console but in lieu of that, this suffices. Fun to play through again if you did so upon original release and even more fun if it's your first time – as is the case with Sunshine for me!

Wonderful Nostalgia

Super Mario 64 was my favourite game growing up, I love how it plays exactly the same and the hidden lives are even in the same places! I was far too excited and can't wait to get my daughter into it (after I've completed it hahaha).

Nintendo Switch Super Mario 3D All-Stars 155397 review

Why are you looking at this? Go and play Super Mario 3D All-Stars now! Oh, still here? Fine. Nintendo has done the utterly expected and pulled at the nostalgia strings of all generations to bring a triple threat of titles to Nintendo Switch and make its rectangle of delight almost irresistible.

Nintendo Switch Super Mario 3D All-Stars 155397 review

The stars are all here!

Enhanced textures in Mario 64, New control options for Mario Galaxy, Resolution upgrades across the board, Three amazing games that have aged surprisingly well, Widescreen support for Mario Sunshine

Old bugs still remain, Some elements haven't aged as well as others, Upgrades are largely surface level

Super Mario 3D All-Stars Review

Super Mario 3D All-Stars marks the long awaited arrival of some stone cold classics on Nintendo Switch, even if it doesn't always give them the esteemed treatment they deserve to truly shine in the modern era.

Three excellent platformers remastered for a new audience; Improved performance and visuals really pop on a modern display ; Aside from a few fumbles, all games have aged incredibly well ; Mario's legacy is finally being cemented on Nintendo Switch ;

Super Mario Sunshine has some odd technical issues ; Motion control puzzles feel outdated and frustrating in 2020 ;

Super Mario 3D All-Stars review: A super trip down memory lane

The remastering is wonderful, each of the three included games has its moments that marvel, and while undoubtedly the older titles feel somewhat dated – which, really, they should – there's plenty to glean from this triple-title package. Really, though, it's Super Mario Galaxy that steals the show – so it's a shame that the sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2, isn't included to make this a true 3D All-Stars package.

Wonderfully remastered; Super Mario Galaxy is one of the most fun games ever made; A great excuse to explore Mario 3D classics - whether you're new to them or revisiting;

No Super Mario Galaxy 2 as part of the package; Super Mario 64 shows its age; It's a time-limited package release (individual titles available on Nintendo eShop at later date);

No frills port of some great games

This package includes some great Mario classics, but unfortunately doesn't do a whole lot to make them feel new again. Still, fun to revisit these old games in handheld on the Switch.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars review: Classic games that still shine

As someone who had never played Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, or Super Mario Galaxy, I couldn’t have been more excited when Nintendo announced Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a collection of the three titles for Nintendo Switch. Finally playing them, I understood how someone could revere a game like Super Mario 64 in 1996 as something revolutionary. Unfortunately, Nintendo decided to preserve 64 and Sunshine as they were at the time to the detriment of experiencing them in the present day, where both titles would have been improved with better controls found in more modern 3D Mario games. That being said, you could have told me Super Mario Galaxy was a brand-new game, and I would have believed you, ultimately making this collection worth picking up. One of the biggest queries people had after the announcement of Super Mario 3D All-Stars was, “Where is Super Mario Galaxy 2?” For me, playing the collection answers that question; it’s not so much about the games themselves as it is abou...

Super Mario Galaxy is outstanding; Feels authentic to the original releases; A ton of Mario gameplay for $60; More approachable than original hardware;

Super Mario 64 feels its age; Some awkward control changes;
