It has hilarious gameplay and is a blast from start to finish. It has some violence with blood and gore, but you can turn this and the bad language off in the filters. It is a perfect game for 12+ and your child will have so much fun.

Super happy to get this in mail. I was not expecting the crude humor but I am delighted that it's there. Also appreciate the tone down the language feature for younger ones. Reminds me of borderlands, crackdown, and saints row.
I'm a lifelong enthusiast of video games, someon who carried a Nintendo 64 to high school for after-class Mario Kart , snuck in Sudoku during lectures at university, and eventually found a career in game criticism.
Grinding; jumping; swinging; and even walking on water; Deep selection of creative; inventive weapons; Amps add unique powers to guns and melee and traversal; Truly funny; highly contemporary; Incredible color and graphic effects; Sets the tone for Xbox One development; Compensated in overall smooth...
Compensated in overall smooth difficulty curve and forgiving aiming; Let's go grinding
This is a fun game. Great value for money and if you want, you can pretend you are Josh Chan in Crazy Ex Girlfriend, disappointing Rebecca whilst you play.
All of this adds up to a relentlessly enjoyable experience. Just when I thought I was getting a little tired of the writing or combat, something unexpected is thrown my way, giving me plenty reason to stick with it.
Speedy traversal is a blast; incredible mission and weapon variety; colorful visuals
Some repetitive side content
First of all, i have to commend Insomniac for having the courage to make the game they wanted. its not easy breaking out of the cliche and taking a real risk when making a 3rd person shooter. You can tell from this game that a lot of love and creativity went into it.
With its mash-up gameplay and electric kool-aid presentation, Sunset Overdrive has caught and held our attention since E3 2013. Can Insomniac, a studio known best for its work on PS3, deliver a quality Xbox One exclusive? Alan Bell has the verdict.
Bright, humorous, and engaging presentation; Weird and entertaining arsenal; A game that's happy to be a game; Serviceable story; Quality multiplayer
A bit of a learning curve
In Sunset Overdrive the Xbox One has its outstanding exclusive, with the title taking fun/action to an eye-popping level. Here's an experiment: put the developers of wacky, humorous platformers and unrelenting first person shooters in a room, give their creativity all the Red Bull and sugary snacks...
Grinding is fluid and fast; Zany weapons are fun to use; Terrific humour; Loads to do
Can become overwhelming after a while
is big, gorgeous, and a hell of a lot of fun. Never has getting from point A to point B in an open-world game provided so much enjoyment. It provides some of the most fun, frantic, and fantastic gaming I've had on the Xbox One.
Sense of style; Amazing traversal; Great combat; Smart upgrade system
Familiar mission structure
. I had the opportunity to play a bit of the games multiplayer mode, dubbed Chaos Squad (which I'll describe in detail later) at
+ Visually vibrant and stunning; + Fun traversal style; + Charming humor and story; + Difficult but ultimately satisfying combat; + Endless unique respawn animations; + Chaos Squad co-op; + Level of character customization
- Learning curve; - A bit too repetitive at times
