SteelSeries Arctis 7+ Review

SteelSeries’ Arctis 7+ ($169.99) is a quality wireless gaming headset. It's high-end, but a step or two down from the company’s flagship models (the Bluetooth-enabled Arctis 9 and the dual-battery Arctis Pro Wireless, both a few years old). It feels good, sounds good, and can wirelessly connect to a wide variety of devices besides PCs, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Android phones with USB-C ports. It faces stiff competition from above and below, though, with the Razer Barracuda X, an Editors' Choice pick, providing strong mic performance and the same wireless connectivity options for much less money, and the slightly pricier JBL Quantum 800 adding RGB lighting, Bluetooth, and active noise cancellation to the mix. Still, the SteelSeries Arctic 7+ is worth a purchase, especially if you're using it on PC. Simple, Solid, and Comfortable The Arctis 7+ is all-black, from the earcups' matte plastic backs, to the headband's anodized metal, to the wide elastic ...

The SteelSeries Arctis 7+ is a well-built, good-sounding wireless gaming headset that has many connection options, and lots of audio tweaks when connected to a PC.

Bass-forward, well-balanced sound; Sonar software has many headphone and microphone audio options, and capable 7.1-channel surround sound; USB-C transmitter works with PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and some Android phones

Mic isn't the cleanest; Lacks Bluetooth connectivity

Keeping the core features of an already great headset

Decided to pick this up after having an Arctis 5 for a few years, wanted to go wireless and saw the new 7+ has USB-C, better battery life, fast charging and also a neat dongle for use in Nintendo Switch and Valve SteamDeck. The ear cushions are extremely comfortable although initially the clamp on my head was a little tight compared to the arctis 5, but after watching a few videos on YouTube that shows how to easily stretch the metal headband to make it a bit wider. I’ve had no issues with this at all and using the new Sonar software from steelseries helps the gaming audio immensely. Highly recommended.
