Steelseries Arctis 1 Universal Gaming Headset - Black ARCTIS 1 review

The SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless are decent wireless gaming headphones. They're comfortable and have very low latency thanks to their dongle, which means you shouldn't notice any delay when playing. These are a very versatile pair of headphones and can be used on many different gaming platforms.

Accurate audio reproduction; Decent boom microphone; Very good 25-hour battery life; Can be used with every gaming console.

Plasticky build that feels a bit cheap; Inconsistent audio delivery across users.

Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless

The Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless is a capable, relatively inexpensive gaming headset that enables wireless sound and communication on your Nintendo Switch. It works with nearly any other gaming device as well, and it's comfortable to wear.

Works wirelessly with the Nintendo Switch; Flexible connection options; Comfortable

Bass-heavy, slightly muddy sound; Mediocre microphone; USB dongle is inconvenient when using with a phone; No place to store the dongle

Steelseries Arctis 1 Universal Gaming Headset - Black ARCTIS 1 review

One headset that works with all your gaming devices is a lot to promise. But, for the most part, the new Arctis 1 Wireless delivers. If you don’t need something for your iPhone or Xbox, it covers all the bases.

Comfy; lightweight design; Connects to anything with a USB-C port; Removable mic boom; Good battery life and range

MicroUSB charging; No Bluetooth wireless; Sound is a bit flat

Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless Review

The Nintendo Switch is a terrific game system, but it has a significant weakness: voice chat. Without a microphone or Bluetooth functionality, what few games support voice chat require either a wired headset in handheld mode, or using your own phone with Nintendo's awkwardly implemented Switch Online voice chat. Steelseries has a wireless answer for this, and it's a surprisingly flexible and economical one. The $99.99 Arctis 1 Wireless gaming headset uses a USB-C dongle to connect wirelessly to your Nintendo Switch, enabling game audio with voice chat, and thanks to a USB-A extension cable and a 3.5mm connection, it can work just as well with your PC or any other game console. If you've been looking for a way to talk trash on Fortnite with your Switch without using any wires, the Arctis 1 is a compelling headset, though its audio performance doesn't measure up to similarly priced wired options. Design The Arctis 1 Wireless is built similarly to the wired Arctis 1, with a fairly s...

The Steelseries Arctis 1 Wireless gaming headset is one of the very few ways you can use wireless voice chat on your Nintendo Switch, and it works with most other gaming and mobile devices, too.

SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless Review

If the Arctis 1 was twice the price, it would still merit consideration. That it's not only solidifies that this is a headset worth switching too.

Steelseries Arctis 1 Universal Gaming Headset - Black ARCTIS 1 review

What if your gaming headset could go with you anywhere?

Stellar 19-hour battery life. Near-universal compatibility with phones, computers, and gaming consoles. Rich, resonant sound. Crystal-clear voice. Comfortable, lightweight. Virtually no sound bleeding.

Very easy to lose the wireless dongle. No clear way to determine remaining battery life. Cheaper, plastic build than the premium Arctis headsets. No iPhone Lightning port compatibility.

SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless gaming headset review

Good gaming headsets are getting cheap, and cheap gaming headsets are getting a whole lot better. Just a few months after the launch of the $50 SteelSeries Arctis 1 gaming headset, the company has launched a new wireless version, called the SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless.

Arctis 1 Wireless Headset Review – Wire-Free, Flying Free

If it wasn't clear already, people love to be as comfortable as possible when gaming. Headphones can really push that experience one step further, but finding the right fit for your head is a bit of a gamble.

Excellent sound quality; Simple setup; Long battery life; Comfortable

Dongle doesn't work with phone cases; Headset cups may be too big for some; Software required for full usage
