I really like it - glad to get for my hybrid laptop use on the go
The built-in Gigabit Ethernet interface on my motherboard failed and could not be repaired. I had to have Gigabit Ethernet to connect to the NAS I had just built; otherwise it was intolerably slow.
Be careful when ordering this device; there are actually two offerings -- one with a dongle and one w/o. A dongle is a short USB cable that will extend from the computer's USB port to this adapter.
I have two of these and both of them worked immediately out of the box and have transferred bits apparently faultlessly for many months; These adapters should be attached to a USB 3.0 bus; That said, I use one of these for a 100 Mbs connection, though it is capable of 1000 Mbs.

Pretty good dongle. Use it for connecting my MacBook Pro to my PC. Recommended to all MAC users.
USB 3.0; quality

After reading reviews on other sites, I downloaded and installed the newest drivers before it arrived since the driver disk has old versions. Once it was here, I plugged it in and it was recognized immediately. It works great and frees up the Thunderbolt port on my Macbook Air!
I use this with my macbook pro and macbook air and I absolutely love it! I frequently transfer from my laptop to my local server and it actually will transfer at gigabit speeds! I have mine always plugged into a USB 3.0 hub as kind of a make shift docking station and it works great!
Good reviews Works great easy set up
Works well with my old dell laptop which has 100Mbps Network Card. We have a 150Mbps download speed provided by rogers, and yet the measured speed was 30Mbps by Ookla. Streams were choppy. Once I installed this device, the streams were very clear and I measured 190Mbps in Ookla. Wow.
Bought this for a laptop with no ethernet port, with windows 8 no driver required. Not quite gigabit but the bottle neck would be my hard drive in this instance.
