The biggest problem of this game is that it's simply not entertaining, even to a diehard Trekkie. The presentation is dull, the visuals are horrific and the gameplay feels broken and tedious most of the time. There's really no amount of money that you should spend on this game on any platform.

Star Trek doesn't belong in the modern games industry. Gene Roddenberry's idealistic space-faring parable was driven by big, heartfelt beliefs: multicultural co-existence, diplomacy, strategy and an unquenchable thirst to find new things and understand them.

It's easy to see how Star Trek was a good idea on paper. Cooperative action games are very popular, so why not take sci-fi's most iconic buddy duo and put them in one? We can get all the awesome CGI assets from the very successful movie reboot and use them to make a big AAA action game, and then...

Is there a worse fit for the world of Star Trek, that subversively powerful force of social equality and acceptance, than a brainless, cover-based third-person shooter? I submit that there is not.

This game is great for trek fans. The game really reminds me of Ghostbusters video game. Same linear gameplay with scanning for collectables side quests. Same graphics, trying to look real but not quite there. Same stiff controls that don't seem to work when you really need them to in a bind.
