Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a gorgeous, enthralling time machine into gaming’s past. It’s my sincere hope that Activision has updated Crash and Spyro for today’s audience to test the waters for new entries.

Many would-be mascots have come down the pike over the years, trying to capture just the slightest hint of Mario-level stardom. Spyro the Dragon never quite got there, but he did manage to star in some of the most charming and accessible platformers of the PlayStation era, and the Reignited Trilogy...

Item collection in the original game feels pointless

Spyro Reignited Trilogy stays true to the original games while giving them a jaw-dropping lick of paint in terms of new visuals and more polished controls. For fans of the original games, this is how remakes should be done. For new players like me, it’s time to see what the fuss is all about…

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an absolute pleasure and a strong continuation of Activision's commitment to remastering classic games. For those who grew up with or loved the old Spyro games, I can't imagine you won't find yourself engrossed in the collective quality of these remasters.

Based on the original PS1 series created by Insomniac Games, this remastered trilogy has been recreated from the ground up by Toys for Bob, making the whole entire trilogy resemble modern CGI animation, but in real time hehe! Recommended for all ages!

This game is still as cute as I remember and still has it's frustrating moment's. Definitely worth a purchase!

The first game gets things off to a good start by redesigning the dragons to match their worlds (Artisan, Magic Crafter, etc…) but that's the only real deviation from the original games and that set me up for disappointment. The new visuals are nice though there are times where it interferes with gameplay. Gulp's boss fight for example it's a lot harder to see where his attacks are going to land. The camera was also a hassle during these battles. I ended up changing the camera to passive mode. It didn't solve the issue, but it reduced the amount of times I had to wrestle the camera around so I could see. Having the gem locator available from the start is great, but I wish the game told you about it. The same with the Atlas, I loved being able to fast travel between worlds. My ideal game would have had had number 2's intro and outro cinematics for each game, it would have been a great opportunity to do some worldbuilding, but at the very least I would have liked consistency between 2 and 3's flight controls (they invert for some reason and you can't change it). I would give the game as itself a 3 but it lost a star for not including the whole of the games on the disc. I honestly don't understand why they felt it was necessary to make us download levels
