Not a bad game by any means, The Fractured But Whole suffers by not being quite as innovative as it's predecessor. It's funny enough, maybe not as funny as Stick of Truth. The gameplay is solid, but it is more of the same.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole's DLC Bring the Crunch had the potential to be a great story and truly fun addition to an already exemplary game. It's short length, lack of content, and unnecessary boss battles to pad the run time of an already short experience feel weak compared to the insane...

Picking up directly after South Park: The Stick of Truth , South Park: The Fractured But Whole sees Cartman interrupting the ongoing Medieval-themed playtime shenanigans of South Park's fourth-grade schoolboys by telling them that they'll be playing at being superheroes.

Unfortunately, where The Fractured But Whole really disappoints is in its setting. The Stick of Truth had already introduced us to an open-world South Park, so revisiting the likes of Cartman's house or Stark's Pond is no longer a novelty.

Buy South Park: The Fractured but Whole South Park: The Fractured But Whole follows up moments after the end of the South Park: The Stick of Truth . The New Kid's reign as king lasts a few scant moments before the kids get bored of playing fantasy games and move on to playing superheroes.

Like the comic book movies it parodies, The Fractured but Whole isn't perfect, but it'll make you smile. I've told and re-told the old chestnut about how part of my first purchase with my first paycheque was Castlevania: Symphony of the Night .

The Stick Of Truth finally gave us a South Park game that was actually good . Following a similar formula, The Fractured But Whole (did you spot the subtle play on words there) looks to replicate that success.
