Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera White (Body Only) - Brand New review

The Sony ZV-E10 is excellent for vlogging, which is no surprise since this is its main intended use. The camera has a fully articulated screen that lets you monitor yourself while filming.

Fully articulated screen., Great battery life., Excellent overall autofocus., No recording time limit.

No IBIS., Autofocus isn't as reliable as other Sony cameras., Very noticeable rolling shutter effect.

Sony ZV-E10 review

The Sony ZV-E10 is a logical gap-filler in Sony’s lineup. A vlogging-focused camera with an articulating screen, boosted microphones, and a compact body, it’s a powerful little video tool and takes impressive photos. The ZV-E10 definitely isn’t perfect, with its three main limitations being significant rolling shutter when panning, a non-touch menu system, and no 4K capture at 60p (which isn’t common at the price). Get past those limitations though and you'll find an affordable, video-focused hybrid with solid audio options.

Compact size; Articulating screen; Great autofocus; Impressive stills camera; Solid audio credentials;

Rolling shutter while panning; No 4K/60p video mode; Menu system isn’t touch-optimized; No viewfinder

Sony ZV-E10 review

The ZV-E10 definitely isn’t perfect, but you can easily argue away the things it doesn’t nail when you consider its price tag. If you shoot 4K video and pan a lot, it’s not for you – that jelly effect is just too real. Drop the resolution to 1080p though, or shoot without aggressively panning (or even better, using a fixed tripod) and its value is hard to overstate. Add to the mix its impressive audio capture options – that three-capsule microphone, plus headphone and microphone ports – not to mention the multimedia shoe mount at the top, and it quickly becomes clear that there’s nothing else quite like the ZV-E10 on the market. As a compact APS-C vlogging option, it’s tough to beat.

Excellent autofocus; Sharp 4K video; Fantastic audio options;

Bad 4K rolling shutter; No in-body image stabilisation; No touch display;

Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera White (Body Only) - Brand New review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Sony ZV-E10 Review

A year after introducing its first camera for vloggers (the fixed-lens ZV-1), Sony is bringing the concept to an interchangeable lens platform. The ZV-E10 ($699.99, body only) is built around the same sensor as the stills-focused a6100, but is made just for video. It has a quality in-camera microphone, a front-facing display, and some focus and metering modes tuned for vlog video. The 4K video it captures is crisp, but digital stabilization tightens the angle of view when working handheld, and a weak battery means you'll want to carry some spares for all-day work.Made for Video and Vlogs The ZV-E10 is built with the needs of video-first creators, particularly vloggers, in mind. As such, it drops the EVF, built-in flash, and Mode dial from the stills-first a6100. Instead, it uses a quality three-capsule microphone (a windscreen is included) and adds a swing-out, front-facing LCD. It's a slim, light camera—2.5 by 4.5 by 1.8 inches (HWD) and 12 ounces. Sony is offering the camer...

Sony's ZV-E10 camera appeals to vloggers with a quality mic and support for swappable lenses, but is held back by a weak battery and a so-so touch interface.

Excellent 4K video at 24 or 30fps; Best-in-class autofocus; Bright, front-facing LCD; Clear in-camera microphone; Supports add-on mic and headphone monitoring; Works as a USB webcam

Battery drains quickly; Digital stabilization adds crop to video; Limited touch controls; In-camera charging slow for on-the-go use; Slow-motion limited to 1080p; No 4K60 recording

Sony ZV-E10 Mirrorless Camera White (Body Only) - Brand New review

Just like the ZV-1 vlog camera that won an EISA Award two years ago, the ZV-E10 is designed for content creators, with the added benefit of using interchangeable lenses. It’s an excellent camera for both photos and video, offering fast and accurate autofocus, complemented by Real-Time eye AF.
