For a company that rarely truly excels when it comes to smartphones, Sony has made another odd move with the Xperia XA. It's a visual stunner, but the specs are disappointing. How does it stand up to daily use though?
Aesthetically speaking, the Sony Xperia XA is a stunning phone. Everyone should find a colour to match their personality by choosing from White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold and Rose Gold. At only 7.9mm thick, it has a sleek, minimalist look, and at 137.4g you’ll be able to take it anywhere without it affecting the weight of your pocket too much. With its 5-inch screen covered in scratch-resistant glass, it will keep on looking stunning for a long time too.
Luckily its highlights don’t stop there, because its functionality is as exceptional as its style. At its foundation, it has an Octa-core CPU and a Mali-T860MP2 GPU which helps this Smartphone perform quick & fault free. Paired with this is an Android version 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) operating system. For even better application support, you should consider upgrading to version 7.0 (Nougat) though.
Download applications, files and images onto the Xperia’s 16GB internal storage space. You’ll find that it can contain quite a lot of your favourite games and images. You can easily slide in a 256GB MicroSD card if you need to store even more data.
One feature that may use up storage space is the Sony Xperia XA’s camera. With a 13MP camera, you may be tempted to take more pictures than usual, due to their exceptional quality. All the photos will look extraordinary on the touchscreen, with its resolution of 720x1280 pixels and 294 ppi pixel density.

Update: We're still waiting on Android Nougat to land on the Sony Xperia XA, but we're told that it's still on the way. Unfortunately, it's one of the final phones in Sony's line of supported devices to receive the software. Even the Sony Xperia Z3+ has Nougat already.
Really happy with this phone has some great features, cameras are very good quality, internal storage is quickly filled but not a problem with the expandable micro so slot. A fantastic device for very little cost.
I would recommend this phone. It is easy to get used to. It is smaller and easier to carry in a pocket. All around good phone.
The Sony Xperia XA is a peculiar mix of the good, the great and the terrible. It looks wonderful and build quality is good. It has a microSD slot, a decent camera and NFC. The price is reasonable, too.
My partner loves this phone had since October he always has Sony battery excellent he uses it mostly for you tube and picture quality excellent I would recommend this phone to any one if you on a budget if you don't want to spend loads then this phone is excellent for the money .
Fit nicely in the palm of the hand. The phone is the right size for seniors (not too heavy, still it feels solid). It took nice pictures. Voice is loud and clear.
When buying/upgrading my biggest rule is to always check out reviews and user ratings before making the decision.... HOWEVER there was an exception with this phone, as my partner surprised me with it! I have given this phone 5 stars because I feel for the price, its fantastic value!
Great price; good design
Sony updates need fixing
The Sony Xperia XA looks fantastic and its camera's great, but its poor battery life and screen let it down
After Sony upgraded to Android 7.0, the camera and battery life became noticeably better.
