The Sony WF-SP800N are a sweat-resistant pair of true wireless earbuds that have both active noise cancellation and support for Sony's spatial audio format, 360 Reality Audio. Could one pair of earbuds please both workout enthusiasts and audiophiles? Well... yes and no.

Sony makes some of the best noise-canceling headphones and earbuds money can buy — the WH-1000XM3 and WF-1000XM3 are widely considered to be the gold standard in each of their respective product categories.

Battery life Nine hours on a charge with ANC; Sound Nice and bassy. Customizable with Sony's companion app; Noise canceling It doesn't rival over-ear headphones, but it does work.

Comfort I find the WF-SP800N get uncomfortable after a couple hours; Looks Subjective, but Sony's earbuds continue to look like props from a made-for-TV sci-fi movie; Size It's to be expected with ANC, but the buds and their case are chunky.

There will likely be plenty of new earbuds in the near future that offer a suite of features comparable to the WF-SP800N, but only the best true wireless earbuds compete with their mix of versatility and performance at present.

There’s an enjoyable quality here in terms of sound signature, especially when recognizing what these earbuds are made for. 360 Reality Audio is a must when purchasing any pair of Sony headphones, and I recommend trying it out if you haven’t.

It’s great to see Sony has decided to bring its true wireless offerings to a broader audience. Its XB700 gives you a nice taste of earbuds with some omissions which you may or may not even care for.
