Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones - Platinum Black WF1000XM4B review

The Sony WF-1000XM4 headphones are an absolute win for Sony. The company rolled the dice on a major update over the last generation, and it really paid off. These headphones sound awesome, look great, and offer industry-leading noise cancelation tech.

Sony WF-1000XM4 review: These noise-canceling earbuds have all-around appeal

Pre-pandemic, the number of true wireless earbuds with noise canceling was just a trickle. Now they are entering the market in a steady stream, and just in time. Even with reduced travel demand, in-ear headphones with active noise-canceling (ANC) still have their uses—blocking out background conversations in busy households, muffling the cacophony of loud streets, and the like.

The Sony WF-1000XM4's improvements over previous generations keep them a strong contender against popular rivals like the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds and Jabra 85t. With a slim, easily pocketable case, good battery life, and a pleasing default sound profile, most people looking for a portable set of true wireless earbuds with solid all-around performance won't be disappointed.

Well-balanced default sound profile; Detailed audio reproduction; Customizable EQ settings;

Sensitive touch controls; Good in-ear seal can be difficult; Ambient sound mode can be disorienting;

Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones - Platinum Black WF1000XM4B review

The Sony WF-1000XM4 are some of the best sounding, best noise canceling earbuds you can buy. They’re not without their quirks, and call quality is still an area of improvement, but they remain one of the most impressive sounding earbuds available today.

Sony WF-1000X M4 Wireless NC Headphones Silver - BRAND NEW review

I chose these after looking at several reviews and trying other ear buds. I have found them good to use and like the functionality that allows you to set up profiles for different places. The one thing I am disappointed out is that they won't connect to my Sony 4G TV

Sony WF-1000X M4 Wireless NC Headphones Silver - BRAND NEW review

I was afraid these would not fit my little ears. For a comparison I'm a 4ft 11 Asian girl with little ears. I previously owned the Jabra Elite 85t and they hurt my ears. I couldn't wear them for longer than 2hrs and because function button is a physical push, it kept pushing the buds it into my ear...

Bang & Olufsen debuts waterproof Beoplay EX wireless earbuds

Sony’s eagerly anticipated follow-up to its very highly rated WF-1000XM3 noise-canceling true wireless earbuds is finally here. The WF-1000XM4 cost $280, and they address even our very few critiques of the XM3 with a laundry list of improvements — some big, some small. Has Sony once again established a new benchmark for the true wireless world, or does it still have some work to do? Let’s get into it. Editor’s note: Sony updated the WF-1000XM4 in March 2023 with new firmware that enables Bluetooth Multipoint. It hasn’t changed our score, but we’ve updated this review to reflect the enhancement. First of all, big props to Sony for creating packaging that should be adopted as an industry standard. The XM4 come in a tiny box that eschews all the flashy labeling and glossy prints you’ll see on boxes from companies like JBL and Soundcore. As a result, every piece can be recycled or composted. The only hint of plastic is in the thin exterior wrapping band that holds the two halves of the box...

Great sound quality; Good battery life; Excellent noise cancellation; Wireless charging;

May not fit small ears; Slightly lacking in high-end detail;
