Amazing Lens

I needed a lens for video work. I usually use prime lenses and zoom wasn't on my wish list but I have tried this 24-105 f4 lens and I fell in love with it. The lens is sharp, very sharp. Auto focuses beautifully while recording video on a7sII. Works great in a rig and on a gimbal.

Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS lens SEL24105G

If you had to choose just one lens to take with an α7 camera while travelling, this would be the one. It's a fine companion to the α7M3 (INSERT LINK) we used for our review and should be as good a fit with any of the other models in the series, as well as the α9.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens SEL24105G review

The release of the FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS gives users of Sony’s full-frame mirrorless camera bodies an excellent, sub $2,000 midrange full-frame zoom lens capable of fully exploiting megapixel rich camera bodies like the A7RIII.

Perfect General Purpose Lens

This is really a great zoom range for general travel photography (and other specific purposes). Sure, youre not going to take tight wildlife shots at 105mm, and youre not going to get those super-wide architecture shots, but for everything else this is really the sweet spot for a only-carry-one-lens...

Impressed by its unexpected versatility

I bought this only 2 weeks ago and have used it on three excursions. I was surprised to find out how versatile it is, exactly as the sales consultant at Wex Photographic told me. I bought it because I trusted what he said. Just as sharp from wide-angle to telephoto.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens SEL24105G review

Sony’s great all-rounder, this wide aperture f/4 may not be a prime lens, but its incredibly sharp optics and zoom range make it ideal for a wide range of photographic genres, especially when choosing people as your subjects.

Extremely overpriced

It is an average lens extremely overpriced. Quality pictures aren't good for that price. You can't compare it to Zeiss at all. What can I say. Aye AF work very poor with this lens. Lens returned.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens SEL24105G review

With a standard zoom the lens has to cover as many eventualities as possible as the photographer will demand a versatile optic. It must focus close, have a wide focal length range and a viable maximum aperture that is as fast, or bright, as possible.

Excellent sharpness; Well controlled distortion; Excellent flare resistance; Dust and moisture resistance; OSS system; Excellent handling; Quality manufacture

CA may need software correction

When you're talking mirrorless and everything's on the sensor, there shouldn't be back or front-focus issues, all on the sensor. But I could manually adjust or auto adjust to the center of a camera target and the focus point would be forward of that, with center a bit defocused.
