We were using Sony's action cam for the past few days and after our initial impressions on it, we're now ready to give you our review. It could be compared to the latest Hero5by GoPro in the sense that both shoot up to 4K video, but the FDR-X3000R has been boasting about its optical image...
Great image stabilization (OIS; Stereo audio recording; Minimal delay in live preview via Bluetooth; Decent battery life; Wearable live preview makes operation a lot easier; Option to zoom in and out; Good low light performance
Limited accessories in the bundle; Dropped frames during playback over Wi-Fi; Wind reduction is not that effective; Connecting the camera to a smartphone is a hit and miss; Picture quality needs more detail
Would highly recommend to get your hands on this action cam! 10/10. After reviewing so many action cams on the market, the sony fdr-x3000 definitely won me over. Great for Vlogging since it has an OPTICAL stabiliser.
There are some things to love about the Sony FDR-X3000. It delivers excellent, ultra-wide angle video with optical stabilization, not a lot of distortion, 4K resolution, and strong audio quality.
4K recording with optical stabilization; 100Mbps XAVC S compression; In-body tripod mount; Protected from dust and splashes without case; Includes waterproof case; Standard mic input; Wi-Fi
Monochrome information LCD only; Underwhelming still image quality; Limited battery life
Sony could definitely be called an expert when it comes to camera technology and this applies just as seriously to the company's steadyshot camcorders and other video cameras. The company has been making them for years and their first models came out well before 4K was even a major thing in digital...
Great video quality; especially in 4K; Tough design; Balanced Optical SteadyShot; Live-View Remote; Zeiss Lens technology; Removable battery; Splash resistant body
GoPro offers longer shooting time; Weak still photos; High frame rate video not the best; A bit expensive
The rise of portable action cameras has allowed us to capture virtually every moment of our sporting events. Whether you're perfectly landing that difficult trick or taking a spill, you've got the whole thing on tape.
This tiny action cam's nicely image stabilized 4K 30fps footage impresses, but an unreliable live view remote makes this variant of the cheaper FDR-X3000 of dubious value.
Waterproof housing included; B.O.SS image stabilization tech impresses; Remote monitoring; Useful 3x digital zoom for close-up shots; Tripod thread; Plenty of accessories
High price; Live View Remote drop-outs common; 3x zoom lacks autofocus; Soft still images; Short battery life
Very like !.)
The feature set on the Sony FDR-X3000 is absolutely AMAZING for the money, the menu is actually fairly easy to understand once one uses it for a short while, and the B.O.S.S. system is absolutely tremendous in both execution and final results. Blown away by it, actually.
This model has a great support for older a-mount lenses and in-body image stabilization. These two features triggered my decision to buy a6500. Aside from that, image quality, instant autofocus, bright and colour-accurate display, possibilities of customization and rather compact size make it one of...
