Pure and simple

Give it a time and you'll not want another phone. Small, convenient, usefull -attributes that many expencive models/makes are lacking of. I doesn't look fancy, so it is safe from other people sticky fingers, yet a precious communication jewel in your pocket.

Editor's Review of the Cedar

The Sony Ericsson Cedar may not be the most spec-heavy handset on the market, but for an affordable handset, it's almost impossible to complain. If you're keen to keep an eye on your carbon footprint, the Cedar could just be your perfect handset.

Sony Ericsson Cedar review Review

As a continuation of the GreenHeart brand, it's hard to see the Cedar as anything but a success. It boasts a better design, improved functionality and a generally pleasing interface -- although the poor camera and often sluggish widgets do diminish the impact slightly.
Pros:
  • Great design
  • 3G and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Home screen widgets save time
  • Uses standard micro-USB connector
Cons:
  • Poor camera
  • with no LED flash
  • Web browsing is a pain
  • Twitter client is awkward to use

Sony Ericsson Cedar review

The Sony Ericsson Cedar is the lastest edition to the brand's eco-friendly GreenHeart range, joining the Elm and the Hazel . Made from recycled plastics and boasting a power consumption that's lower than most other handsets, the Cedar (or J108i, to give it it's full model name) also includes 3G...
Pros:
  • Slick design
  • home screen widgets
  • has 3G and Bluetooth
  • cheap
Cons:
  • Clunky web browsing
  • mediocre camera with no flash

Right now, when every phone launched seems to be a touchscreen smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Cedar manages to stand on its own as a basic, non-touchscreen phone with an alpha-numeric keypad and whose two biggest features are 3G connectivity and an inexpensive price tag.

Smartphones may be getting more and more feature packed with each iteration, but not everybody wants a touchscreen device or a lengthy contract. This is where the Sony Ericsson Cedar comes in, offering an affordable price tag, simple feature set, and proving itself as the ideal tool for phone calls...
Pros:
  • Considering the price tag, the Sony Ericsson Cedar looks nicer than average, with simple but attractive styling
  • There's nothing revolutionary about it – you'll find a pretty standard 2.2-inch TFT screen, and a regular alpha-numeric keypad below that – but it's neatly styled, light and compact,...
Cons:
  • The Sony Ericsson Cedar is obviously a bargain basement handset when it comes to features
  • There is a camera, but at 2-megapixels it's nothing to write home about, and other features are similarly limited.

Sony Ericsson Cedar

Not the most classy-looking device, with its silver plastic chassis on the back, and not everyone will like the curved case, but it is tidy and lightweight A simple-to-use handset, but don't bother using the phone's built-in and complicated user manual While it has both Bluetooth and a 3.5mm
Pros:
  • Very light
  • nice looks
  • excellent price
Cons:
  • Disappointing camera
  • plastic case
  • few features
