Sony Ericsson Cedar: Sony Ericsson - practical, easy to use, and still green!

I have had the Sony Ericsson Cedar phone for 2 years and it has never let me down. A common annoyance with my previous phones over the years was that the battery would wear out so soon, as I am an incessant texter! I used to have to take my phone charger with me everywhere.

Sony Ericsson Cedar

Not the most classy-looking device, with its silver plastic chassis on the back, and not everyone will like the curved case, but it is tidy and lightweight A simple-to-use handset, but don't bother using the phone's built-in and complicated user manual While it has both Bluetooth and a 3.5mm
Pros:
  • Very light
  • nice looks
  • excellent price
Cons:
  • Disappointing camera
  • plastic case
  • few features

Smartphones may be getting more and more feature packed with each iteration, but not everybody wants a touchscreen device or a lengthy contract. This is where the Sony Ericsson Cedar comes in, offering an affordable price tag, simple feature set, and proving itself as the ideal tool for phone calls...
Pros:
  • Considering the price tag, the Sony Ericsson Cedar looks nicer than average, with simple but attractive styling
  • There's nothing revolutionary about it – you'll find a pretty standard 2.2-inch TFT screen, and a regular alpha-numeric keypad below that – but it's neatly styled, light and compact,...
Cons:
  • The Sony Ericsson Cedar is obviously a bargain basement handset when it comes to features
  • There is a camera, but at 2-megapixels it's nothing to write home about, and other features are similarly limited.

Right now, when every phone launched seems to be a touchscreen smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Cedar manages to stand on its own as a basic, non-touchscreen phone with an alpha-numeric keypad and whose two biggest features are 3G connectivity and an inexpensive price tag.

I have had this phone for a few days now & it seems to be a good phone. It's sleek & light. The fact that it has HSDPA is great but the lack of Wi-Fi is annoying. The phone is fairly easy to use & the Facebook & twitter widgets are a good feature.
