Start off by saying: I'm not by any stretch of the imagination, a professional photographer. I'm simply an enthusiast, and a major "gadget head". That being said,.. I've had this lens for over a year now, using with an A5100.

very nice compliment to the kit lens for my sony A6000 -- picks up at the 55 mm focal length and gives good reach for more distant subjects. this makes for a compact and light weight kit for travel and hiking. focus is fast and accurate. OSS makes for reasonable hand holding of telephoto shots.

A nice zoom lens. With body made of Mag-Alloy, silent AF motor AND built-in Image Stabilisation (IS). On top of everything, this lens has "Focus Tracking Compatibility" with E-mount Cameras, which is of GREAT help, when shooting moving objects (in decent light) at the 210mm end.

The lens is best at mid range and aperture and working around this is easy, don't expect pin sharp fully zoomed images and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank with the hundreds of ￡'s you will have saved yourself. Yahoo potato.

I love my Sony NEX camera but for my family needs at school concerts and recitals and such I found my lens to be not much help in getting the close up or pixilated shot when cropping them out of the cast of many. I used the lens at the middle school fall concert .

Sharp enough for this kind of budget lens. Does not perform well in low light but on sunny day or well lit studio or set, it's perfect.

The lens has an excellent range and does its job perfectly. This helps me in utilizing full potential of my NEX 5R ,as the 18-55 lens is certainly not enough! Fantastic lens, sharp and clear pictures. Sturdy and light. Easy to focus manually. All round great lens.
