I think this lens is a real sleeper! It's the only macro for the e-mount that is not a full frame lens. Small, light, at a great price point. And, it takes great pics! The only down side is you have to get really close to your subject due to the focal length.

Amazing lens and great seller.

As an amateur at macro photography, this is all you need. I've taken photos of my bracelets and they're amazing. The shipping took about 4 days to arrive.

Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens Review

Compact and light, the Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro lens is an APS-C format optic for use on Sony E mount camera bodies. The lens is a relatively simple construction of seven elements in six groups, enhanced by one being an ED element and three being aspherical.

Compact; Well made; Excellent central sharpness; Low price; 1:1 magnification; Fast AF

Edge performance lags; Focal length short for a macro lens; CA high at edges

lemon, lemon, lemon

First time I used the lens the front element fell off-everything from the barrel forward. It didn't hit the ground because a black rubber string was still attached. After trying several times to contact Sony, they referred me to Pricision Camera repairs.

economic wonder

Having recently moved from a heavyweight major brand to a lightweight Sony mirrorless camera, I have purchased the Sony E30mm F3.5 macro intending to see how good the macro facility was, as I have done quite a bit of such work in the past.

An excellent lense to have

This is an excellent lense that matches perfectly with my Sony Nex-7. I would strongly recommend this lense to my friends who want to take detailed close-up photos.

Good quality and price

Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro SEL30M35 review by Perry Rhodan

For this money, it's a steal. The FL is not very usefull for bugs. But that is no con for what it is. Sony make us happy with a 60 macro please.

Good IQ; light; quick; veru compact; price is great

FL range not ideal for wildlife (sony make a 60 in black please)

A great macro lens

Advantages: High quality photos, as with most Sony lenses. Small, and convenient. Comes with a special hood. Disadvantages: Not a very bright lens. In other words, the maximum aperture is not big. To get a 1:1 magnification you would need to put the lens just few millimetres away from the subject.

Great macro lens

very happy with the quality and the price. Was unable to source it locally in Australia and was a bit nervous about buying it from overseas but it works fine and takes great photos.
