Sony RX10 III review

A bridge too fabulous

Huge zoom range; Excellent photo and video performance; HFR is brilliant fun

Expensive; Bulky for a bridge camera

The superb quality of the RX10 III's lens is quite a technical achievement, to say nothing of the overall feature set Sony has included as well. Whether you're zoomed in or zoomed out, focused close or focused on infinity, you'll be impressed with the sharpness offered by this 24-600mm equivalent...

All about that lens: Sony Cyber-shot RX10 III review

Compared to its peers, the RX10 III is the best all-around bridge camera on the market. The 1"-type stacked CMOS sensor offers the same (that is, very good) performance as its predecessor, while the new lens reaches from a wide angle of 24mm all the way to 600mm without any real optical compromises. The high-quality video continues to be a big draw, and barring some ongoing UI and customization concerns, ergonomic updates have made the camera more comfortable to use in the real world.

World travelers, family vacation photography, videographers looking for a high-quality all-in-one solution.;

Peak action and sports photography, those looking for smaller, pocketable solutions.;

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III review

At a glance: With relatively small sensors and often worryingly ambitious lenses, superzoom bridge cameras have usually been overlooked by discerning photographers, as compact system cameras and DSLRs have become more powerful and portable.

High-quality lens with extremely useful zoom range; Superb sensor produces fine stills and high-quality video; Very effective image stabilisation system; Broad range of pro-oriented video specs; Wi-Fi easy to set up and works well

Expensive; Max aperture of f/4 at 100mm; No built-in ND filter; Menu system not as intuitive as could be; Purple fringing and blooming evident in some areas

Sony DSC-RX10 III Cyber-Shot Review

There are a lot of digital cameras currently available that offer similar photo as well as video capability, with the exception of 4K video capturing, in many cases. However, we found that it's lacking in very few areas including the ability to record in stereo sound while filming slow motion...
