The Sony HX400 is an excellent extended zoom camera that's a good fit as a family camera because of its versatility. It's not recommended for enthusiasts and intermediate photographers, but casual shooters and even beginners will find plenty to like about this camera.

This is truly a super camera..I have over the years used many cameras, film and digital..I still have and use my Canon 10D with a large selection of lenses..I wish this camera were available back when I invested all those bucks in the DSLR..This is a do it all photo taking machine.

This is my 3rd Sony P&S camera and by far the best.. I have owned SLR but wanted the versatility of the 50X zoom, and the CMOS chip. I just took pictures of my grandson 's graduation shooting from the stands about a hundred feet away for a close-up of his face and the image was great but what blew...

Pros: This big bad Sony, is truly the greatest!! Powerful, bright, Carl Zeiss lens, do I need to say more. Best camera deal, which I have ever experienced. This is so powerful, make sure you can handle it, as it might just take charge of you.

I love it! I've only been using this camera for about 2 weeks now and I can say I am so amaze of the image quality of this camera. It does everything and the zoom range is awesome. I strongly recommend Sony and Crutchfield to anyone looking for a great digicam.

Very good product,dslr like point and shoot camera,good for people who are beginners in photography world,sony has released dsc hx350 which has same resolution,sensor,lens and build shape but lacks many features like no gps,no eye sensor for view finder,no nfc and wifi,no play memories apps..

This is my second hx400v model. The best camera I have ever owned. I have a fleet of Nikon digital cameras and many older film cameras. THE MOST UNIVERSAL CAMERA WITH EXCELLENT PICTURE QUALITY. BLOWUPS OF 16 X 20 ARE EXCELLENT.
